Ugh...Stories like this (combined with my Chiefs fandom) are the reason why I will struggle to sell any Mahomes cards in the next 10 years (and why I may miss the boat by holding too long...). I've decided I'm ok with this (at least today)

Which Mahomes card couldn't I let go?
It's tough. Because I didn't get to pc him super early none of my PM collection was in the low low dollars, and none was gifted to me so not that kind of emotional connection....
This was my first card of his and I'd HATE to sell it, but if it somehow brought me life changing money I'd probably have to give it up.

Maybe I'd hold onto this one, simply because it won't ever be worth big $'s and it would allow me to keep a card of his...

I won't sell anything for at least 5-7 years when I think there will be a good idea if Mahomie is transcendent in achievement and not only talent.
As a Chiefs fan, God I hope so.

Don’t see these leaf prized rookie prismatics very often... The purple /5 was one of my first pick-ups back when I started building my Mahomes PC in 2018 (before I realized Leaf was no longer cool after my 20 yr hiatus from collecting)

It’s not Panini’s main focus to worry about increasing the secondary market value of product from 2017. Their main goal is to sell as much product as they can in the here and now. I think they’re produce as Mahomes auto cards as their budget will allow and that he is willing to sign.

Sheesh a PSA 9 Green Illumination was on ebay for $7500 OBO, but someone bought and paid for it for 5K.

The Mahomes market is strong...and you can tell the excitement for the season is ramping up.
