I think this new strategy to not allow 10’s on cards that should be 10’s will backfire on PSA. For lower-end cards, 9’s often lose value (if they even sell at all!!) and that model isn’t really worth it anymore if those sellers and/or collectors are seeing 70%+ of their cards lose value by grading—even at $16-17/card grading “special” pricing. Also—lower-end grading, while I admit, clogs the system a bit, is good for PSA’s $$ and lower-end card collectors. I’m not saying they should give out undeserved 10’s—but if a card is a 10–put a 10 on the slab instead of playing some sort of snob-nosed game and assigning 9’s just because they’ve already given a couple of 10’s on that card that day. We aren’t subbing to have PSA control the market, we are subbing to have them accurately assess the condition of the cards ONLY. Be accurate—even if that inflates pop counts on certain cards. PSA wants these low-end cards. We get 10 emails a week telling us to sub these types of cards and registry cards. But if they aren’t willing to grade them accurately, those orders will go away soon. |

Got an order back and unfortunately I was on vacation so it seems I'm SOL with regards to CRC
One card got an 8, and I was surprised b/c I thought it was a 10 candidate. On further inspection I found a dent on the back that was not there before. It also doesnt show in PSA's pre-grading scan image. The other has a hair in it lol |

Ugh, Oct TCG & Non-Sport 1990-Present Special still in research after arriving on 10/31. Definitely the longest wait thus far.

Did my first in-person dropoff at my local LCS. Entered into the system fairly quickly, grading was also pretty quick... then 2 months sitting in Assembly stage. Almost a month with the checkmark checked. I see a lot of orders going through Assembly quickly, so I assume they've been busy trying to justify upcharges
![]() I miss the days when Assembly only took a couple days. |

Graded cards per week on Gemrate has been falling since late September going from around 340k to around 310k. We may have achieved "peak grading", at least in the near term. There's usually a spike in March, presumably as people prepare for the baseball season. It will be interesting to see if we can match the 1.34M from last March. |

Wow...no rhyme or reason to PSA considering I have a October bulk special received by PSA weeks to a month earlier than all these and just went into assembly yesterday. Guess it isn't FIFO!

I have some cards i would like to send in for dual grading. Does PSA ever do any dual grading specials? Seems like dual is taking a very long time so i doubt they do, but wanted to ask before i decide to send them in.

What SHOULD be happening is that gem% in subs should be checked against a company average and outliers should be flagged. If the average gem% is, say, 60% and one shows up at 35%, it should be double checked by an experience grader on staff. If the original grader is too tough, or wrong, then they should be retrained. Obviously, the same should be true for gem% significantly above the average. If the grader is too lenient, or wrong, then they too should be retrained. That's a dream world, though. |

Got smoked on my only recent order that seems to have run through NJ.
Sent in 7 different bulk orders (all similar stuff, just spread out), easily the lowest gem rate. 6/7 gems on Topps Now stuff, 8/21 on other modern (including a 7 and five 8's). |

NJ has a bunch of newbies looking to impress. By impress, they feel like being strict with the grades does the trick with the supervisors. CA is filled with a mix of vet graders and some newbies. If you are lucky to hit one of the vets with nothing to prove, you will get more "favorable" grades, in general.
