Someone logging the cards is entering an awful lot of them as damaged. Weird, as I submitted almost 3000 cards and when items are added I'll have a large amount loaded (many hundreds) with zero condition issue and then an amount uploaded where whomever logged them thinks they work for PSA.
I check the scans and see zero damage on the majority of the ones that are supposedly damaged.

Much appreciated for transcribing the meeting!
As somebody who almost never cashes out actual money but frequently opts for BO credit (which then get funneled into new cards for the site), I should be a target for this option but I’m not really excited. Between sellers who will set totally unreasonable prices and potentially searched product, it feels like it would be a slog to browse. |

Between sellers who will set totally unreasonable prices and potentially searched product, it feels like it would be a slog to browse. I can see that, but that's pretty much all wax, everywhere. One advantage I could see is with postage savings. I have a few sealed boxes here and there but I never want to list them on eBay because of the hassle of packing and the cost of shipping. Medium Flat Rate shipping is about $17. Large Flat Rate shipping is about $23. If you sell on eBay and add those prices to the box, plus insurance and sales tax and such, it will add up really quickly. I feel the same way about cheap slabs. You can find cheap slabs all over eBay, but by the time you add $5 postage plus sales tax to each one, they aren't so cheap. And if you want to try to resell them on eBay, the buyer has to pay $5-$10 more than you did just for you to break even. Then there's sealed product where you know darn well what's in it, such as factory sets or preconstructed gaming decks. It might also be possible for people to sell things like sleeves, toploaders and supplies. |

Does anyone on here sell comic books through COMC currently? How has your experience been? Do things move in decent volume (assuming priced competitively)? Any and all information is greatly appreciated on this. DM me if more comfortable sharing there please.
Additionally, I see coins on the submission wizard, but there are no coins on the site. Are these sellable on COMC as well and I'm just missing something?

In 2010 or 2011 I had several back and fore messages with Tim. All I can really say "Boy!!" things have changed with his thinking. He called it trading, (send in cards someone gives you credit for your card(s) and you use that credit for card(s) you want . Trading credit for cards). Real trading would be the only thing I think I would use out of everything he stated they are going to do. Still you have to spend money for them to process the cards and have to find members willing to trade. So why not just go to another trading site. (that is another story). Maybe he is looking into starting another site that we can use the cards on COMC for trades. Sure!! changed from what he told me. ("I'm doing this for the small guy not the businesses") I truly understand why and where he is going with his business and have no problem with him doing that. I truly think he has forgotten who got him where he is today or just not that many of us on the site anymore.

Are you saying COMC may have rejected the card before sending it off to PSA? The card was in the NM-MT bucket when purchased and it is back in the same bucket after redeposit. I have emailed them today asking for more information about this card. |

Additionally, I see coins on the submission wizard, but there are no coins on the site. Are these sellable on COMC as well and I'm just missing something? Comic books do very poorly on COMC. They're arranged by the year of the first issue of a title, so a Detective Comics from the year 2000 will be listed as 1937. They don't have any way to designate Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, Copper Age, Modern Age or even decade that the comic is actually from. The descriptions are usually the name of the story, which has nothing to do with what comic collectors are looking for. They almost never have any characters in the descriptions. Comics aren't cross-posted to eBay, nor are they eligible for auctions. One of the biggest problems is the Family Friendly policy. When Tim first told us to send in comics, he said nothing "explicit", which I interpreted as actual R-rated and X-rated material. But they will yank almost anything. Example, 1980's Alan Moore Swamp Thing issues, even though they were approved by the Comics Code and sold on newsstands. 1990's Spawn Comics. 2000's Walking Dead. Any Sgt Rock or Sgt Fury or other World War II related comic which shows a German flag or German uniform. Anything with a pretty girl on it. Sometimes completely random stuff. I have seen evidence of recent sales of $1,000 to $3,000 books, such as Incredible Hulk 181 or Amazing Spider-Man 14. But you can sell those in a lot of venues much more easily. It would be some advantage if you intend to use the credit to buy other stuff on COMC, but basic back issues in the $2 to $10 range will mostly just languish year after year, gathering storage fees, unless you price them so low that they won't even handle the processing fees. |

It's old code baked into the site. At one time, they were doing tests with sports-related magazines and some other categories, but they seem to have stopped. There's code to allow coins to be submitted, but I don't think you can actually submit them, unless they're card-related. I remember when they were asking for coin submissions, they specified no gold or silver coins. This is probably due to weird legal issues sending precious metal to certain countries, but it makes the category less appealing to me personally. Just as there are very few truly collectible comic books which are "family friendly", there are very few collectible coins which are made of base metal. Maybe they think people are going to send in piles of 1909-S VDB pennies, but I have a sneaking suspicion it would be random pocket change. |

I had a card that sold on COMC that was miscategorized as a non-auto when it was an auto. Will COMC fix this for me if I report it or am I out of luck? The card is already sold.

They should, I've had cards revoked minutes after buying. I've read that accounts get 1 card refund a month, if thats true.

The one I sent should be supported (PSA pop of 245). Does your sub have anything under "Result" on this page? https://comc.com/Manage/GradingSubmissions Mine is blank were the submission date once was. Last edited by newcokeandtaco; 10-20-2023 at 10:30 PM. |

Opened the eBay Live event, saw they had a Jalen Green / Ja Morant Rookie Impressions that they kept calling a Morant rookie card. Typically a $2 card. Sold for $30. Closed the app.

Yeah I listened to the ungodly annoying host for a few minutes and watched a 2001 Topps David Ortiz that sells for a buck or two on COMC go for $10. I guess it’s good for the sellers?

The live auctions have about 2400 people viewing. That is 24x what I would have thought.
Pricing on almost each item is much much higher than you’d imagine. Now - nobody seems to know how to pay for their items which may be a problem (lol) I wish I’d sent more of my deadish inventory. Seems like everything sells. Announcer is a whatnot applicant for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ya, but if you submitted your stuff most likely it's not in tonight's live apparently. They are doing more next week during the week, which definitely won't get the same viewership. I'm glad I didn't send anything of value.
Also this guy doesn't know much about cards. Said purple shimmer bowman chrome is like panini FOTL. Haha. He doesn't even know how people pay for the wins or use the comc website. Comical. When that Aaron Judge 2018 baseball treasure coin card sold, I knew prices were gonna be silly.

I doubt that is correct. I added a bunch of the live items to my ebay watchlist and they all show as being “sold” for 99 cents. Every single one of them.
