With Cole coming back at some point, do the Yankees trade Gil for the playoff run or dump him back in the minors. He may be put of options, I'm not sure.

The way he is showing progress with each start I would keep him.

It’s not the haters that bother me, that is fine. If you hate the content but add nothing to the thread why visit. This thread I thought was supposed to be interaction between fans of the Yankees and doing the games. It really doesn’t bother me not posting the play by play but you know what would make the experience of this thread better. Talking about things going on during the game viewpoints as to why you think a move or call was wrong. The reason I was doing the play by play was to occupy time during the game, I don’t know your reason for doing the play by play but I am sure you have one. People complained and I listened I don’t need to do play by play, but with that being said at least a little fan conversation during the game would be nice.

I would keep Gil and make sure he spends as much time learning from Cole. His stuff is great, he needs to learn how to become a reliable starter. That's a huge jump. I also find it amazing that the bullpen has been so good. With a bunch of no names. I know Boone gets knocked here for how he uses the bullpen but I have never had a problem with him on that. I actually think that's one of his strengths. I know I'm in the minority on that. I could see how we we will need some arms later in the year for sure. I don't see the pen keeping this pace. Anyway, the bats will be the key. Both Arizona and the Rangers didn't have outstanding pitching last year, the bats carried them.

I do that already in another chat with some Yankee friends and family, otherwise I would do that here. It's mostly me complaining anyway, that gets old fast, but it's my family they have no choice.

It’s a long season and I do think having an arm like Gil’s will be an asset later on in the year. I would like to share your sentiments on Boone as I want him to succeed but he might handle the bullpen adequately but he just doesn’t seem capable of managing the Yankees to a title. I hope I am wrong but in his time managing the Yankees he gets them close but never crosses the finish line.

I used to chat with my brother in law during the games and we could go back and forth on things with no hurt feelings. I just feel in this thread half the time you have to bite your tongue to avoid unwanted arguments and there isn’t as much give and take as there should be.
