Get in chat or email them and ask. Realistically fair market value to me is last 10ish or recent sales on eBay, COMC, etc.

it seems kinda random, tbh. Gave me more for Roy halladway than Wayne rooney. I'd argue it if I cared about the credit.

I love the physical eTopps and have many in my collection. Especially as a Patriots and Red Sox collector when both teams were super great in the aughts. It's an era I missed out on as my career started and I stopped collecting.

Because of this thread, I went looking for deals and found a Julius Peppers rookie for $11 so I scopped it up. Not bad, not bad.

Without you posting the entire portfolio, I’d say go after any rookies of note.
Also the Allen and ginter sets are popular in hand.

Rookies, big names, eVents and Card Ladder (or whatever you use for pricing)

I have more than 2,000 Etopps cards in my portfolio and am trying to decide which ones to have shipped. Based on recent EBAY sales, it appears the earliest cards have significant value. For example, I have located the latest sold prices on 74 of the 88 2001 football cards in my portfolio and 62 of them equal or exceed $10. While it's likely the market may take a dive as portfolios are liquidated and more cards are made available to secondary sources, I am inclined to pay the freight on the oldest Etopps cards.
More recent data is sketchy, and I would appreciate any insight others may be able to provide regarding the market for 2002 and later cards.
Also, though I am neither an attorney nor a tax expert, it appears to me that taking the $1.50 credit on less desirable cards would generate a capital loss that could be used to offset investment gains in the stock market, real estate, etc. My research indicates that this may apply only to those who actively deal cards rather than pure collectors, though it might be argued that not taking physical possession of the cards for a period of years would indicate that relatively inactive Etopps portfolios were primarily an investment rather than a collection.
If there are any legal or tax experts out there, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Wasn't sure what they were offering as market value for cards no longer held by Etopps - but I see they have offered $5 in store credit for the 2004 JR Smith (basketball). Interested to hear what other's have been offered as fair market value for their missing cards.

Also, my shipping order from 9/1 is still pending. For those that requested shipping after the 8/28 e-mail - who has received their cards, how long did it take, and what condition were the cards in?

Thanks

all cards are a mix of investment and hobby.

It’s dead money at this point. They haven’t released new cards in 15 years. Take the store credit and have fun buying wax the next year or so.

For those who have multiple eTopps ports, can you get store credit to one Topps.com account?

I have two ports. I set up a Topps account and have both linked to it and haven’t had anything tell me it wasn’t possible yet. I have received credit from one port and will be ordering cards and store credit soon for the other.

I have one main port and two smaller ports. I just received store credit today for my main port, and I was about to check out on the two smaller ports when that question came to mind. I didn’t see anything prohibiting it, but I just wanted to check if anyone has done so.

I had one massive port, one midsize port, then another 2 small ports I cant access, I think one may have been hacked forever ago actually.

The massive and midsize port I have taken delivery of actual cards over the last few years on both so somehow those got linked. I had to jump through some hoops to take delivery on the midsize port yesterday, no store credit on that one yet.

Massive port I took delivery of 300 cards and a 5k+ credit and all have been received, havent decided if I am shipping the cards back without the cases or just moving on

Does anyone know if there is a way to take delivery on a specific quantity of an individual card. There are many cards that I have multiple and I’d only like 1 or in some cases just a few.

The website no longer allows that. Would have been nice!

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. There were a couple cards I had huge chunks of the print run. Can’t justify shipping them all. Future redemptions out giveaways or inserts for someone else I’ve guess

Guess we still can't confirm that two credits could go to one single Topps account.

If I'm you, I would definitely ship the cards back to at least get the authentication stickers. For me, the card will bring way less value without that sticker.

A guy on facebook said he did it. I tried a couple days ago but don't know yet if it worked since there's like a 6 day lag.

Check out the new thread I just started. ETopps ports now have store credit assigned to cards.

Looks like different people are having different experiences. I sent evidence that my cards were undervalued by $25-$30 and they adjusted my store credit by giving me an extra $1.50.

With the deadline for deciding to take possession of Etopps cards or accept store credit approaching, I am trying to decide what to do with about 500-600 of the lesser cards in my portfolio. To accept shipment and forego store credit would essentially cost me about $2.75 per card, so I'm wondering if there are collectors who would be willing to pay $5 per card for cards that cost me (on average) about $8. I have hundreds of commons and minor stars from baseball, basketball and football and a nice bunch of Hockey Hall of Fame players available. If you're interested, please let me know by Sept. 17.

What you paid for them is irrelevant, the program ended 13 years ago. Most people aren't looking for uncirculated commons, and that's if they are using the holders. I've lost track of what they are doing there given that they've changed things almost daily.

The credit is the way to go. Without providing what you have, I doubt you will get any takers. If you list names in the BST section you might find a buyer for a few of them.
