Langford psa 9 just ended at $725 plus shipping. Couple hundred less than the last one sold but couple hundred more than I paid for mine so still looking good. He’s in a bad slump, but hitting the ball hard every game! he will turn it around.

It is also interesting to note that nothing graded higher than a PSA 8 exists for this card (pop 4) as I have mentioned before, it is very condition-sensitive within the set.
$725.

Obliterated the previous high by almost 50%.

It certainly helps to be an mvp candidate.

I thought we had hit a listing lull in mid April due to a lack of sellers, but many folks got their PSA graded cards back and mix in the early part of the season and cards started surfacing again and that action lasted a few months.

Now the PSA pop report growth has essentially slowed to a crawl and we have zero live auctions again for the first time in two months - perhaps another sign the circulating population is getting scarce. Seeing the big jump in PCA with no copycat listing tells me we will start to see a lot less action on these, which may mean higher prices for the few that show up.

The set is still less than seven months old and about 85% of sealed has been cracked around the world.

The very first PCA PSA 9 just hit the pop report today - will the owner list immediately or tuck it in his pc when he gets it back?

How are you estimating how much has been opened?

Based on what’s been graded by public pop report data of PSA, SGC, and BGS, and my own following of this set since it came out.

The highest PSA pop report card is now Skenes at 13, and I know of four other copies that have not been graded yet, add in another 10-15% for those cards that have been pulled but not publically known to have surfaced and another 10-15% left in wax, and the availability of sealed product out there and you can get a decent estimate for a product of only 2500 sealed case production that was massively torn apart by breakers.

Not hardcore science-based, but just my own observational estimate as I have followed these cards with great interest.

Here's the monthly update, always on the 20th of each month. Total number of transactions from the past three months have been reduced by about 50% compared to the previous four months after release as singles have been drying up. Also starting to see some separation within the rookie class as the season rolls along, several players have been demoted to the minors. Close to 200 (1/3) of all singles have been slabbed by TPG at this point in time.

GS-1 Elly De La Cruz 500 750

The Ohtani goes for almost 4x the judge - is that price differential pretty similar across all their inserts?

Is Judge currently undervalued?
Is Ohtani overvalued?
Or is everything just right?

That sale, and if others occur before then, will be reflected in the July, 2025 update!

Looks like in the Bowman’s best strokes of gold insert set (finally saw one in person at a show yesterday - beautiful card by the way), the Ohtani premium is only 1.5-2x over Judge.

So for the gilded gold storm sales differential, you be the judge on which is the better value.

Funny you mention that. Look what arrived today!

No idea if I’ll add the Ohtani card though. It feels a bit over priced.

There’s only one explanation for all closing prices these days - repackers!

Has anyone seen any on the show circuit recently?

The last show I went to, I only saw one single from the entire 2024 gilded baseball product.

Caminero superfractor went for $1700 several months ago and resold on eBay for $2800 this month.

Also interesting to note, some singles sold by international sellers sometimes sell for only half of what their domestic sales go for - except for Ohtani.
