The Lions would need to give up multiple high draft picks where they have had huge success at much more discounted salaries.

The Lions need players to step up but there is no way they can replace a player who was at a level never attained by a defensive end in the past 5 decades or longer.

Well Maxx Crosby's comments were interesting today. Maybe he wants out after all.

They were. But it probably isn't happening. They're likely to wait a couple weeks and see if they can win key games without Hutch before making a massive move of any kind. It really sucks but I think this is how they have to play it.

I agree, and I think Sunday's game will be very telling. Minnesota has a good enough offense to show upper management what this team looks like with no edge pass rush.

I'd be calling Cleveland every single day about Garrett. The Browns are stuck for the next two years because of Watson's contract. Their most prudent move would be to tank for a couple years and get everything they can for their best players.

I wonder if Browns fans would agree.

Za'Darius Smith came out and said he would look good in Detroit. He wouldn't be a bad option, probably wouldn't cost much in draft capital either.

He's had a really good career but his best days are definitely behind him. Wouldn't hurt to take a flyer on him.

I believe they are trying to stay away from losing any significant high draft pick. With 11 games to go, it would be tough to swallow losing a first round pick. I’m sure their scouting team already have certain positions of needs being identified with who they are scouting.

Would be great to find a DE & Edge rusher in the draft. Im hoping that Houston can learn his position and become the force that he was in that rookie stretch he had.

I’m not expecting the Lions to be Division winners anymore but it would be fantastic. The defense will be giving up more points with the loss of Hutch but if they can squeeze out more wins like this, who knows. I would have never guessed Goff to have as many efficient games in a row. He is in a zone.

Lions offense may need to outscore the opposition.

What a great win! Had they lost, the there’s a lot of things you could point to: Monty’s fumble TD, fake punt gaffe that led to Minn TD, pass rush allowing Danold all day to throw, the 2,000 offensive holding penalties…but the team elevated on the road and found a way.

Feels like the Lions stole this one… Love it!

Go roll the Titans at home and get ready to defend 1st place at GB in 2 weeks.

Hutch was easily the front runner for DPOY. I know Van Ginkel is playing great for the Vikes but Brian Branch is looking like Charles Woodson, Troy Polamalu & Ed Reed as a safety. He is making plays and having just as many taken off for penalties. I’m so impressed with that young man for performing at a high level in so many diverse areas. That Branch interception was unreal. Most cornerbacks don’t have those kind of hands or athleticism.

Detroit will need to keep scoring roughly 30 a game. If Goff can stay this zoned in and Branch can keep performing at this level, maybe the Lions win the Division with a DPOY, BRIAN BRANCH.

The Lions need to trade for a couple of pass rushers. At this point, you go all in, even more than you have already. You think you have a three or four year window, but a team is different from year to year. It won't take a first round pick to get a good pass rusher. One could be had for a third round pick, or a third and a sixth. You have to pull the trigger. There aren't 5 teams better than the Lions right now. Why would you not try to do everything you can to increase your chances of getting to a Super Bowl? They already needed pass rush help before the Hutchinson injury. They definitely need help now. In fact, they need two. You can't have enough pass rushers.
Moreover, Goff won't keep completing 72% or more of his passes like he has the last three games. He'll come back down to Earth, even if it's just for one game. That's when you need your defense to win it for you. Football is complimentary. You need the defense to make plays also; the defense won't hold up without adding the right pass rusher/rushers.

The Lions have never won a Super Bowl or even been to one. I don't want to hear about 3-5 year plans until they actually get one in the bag. All that matters is winning it all.

They were up 24-7 at halftime of the NFC title game ten months ago. The conference looks pretty mid right now and Santa Clara definitely isn't the same. Push all your chips in and try to win the whole thing this year. Figure out picks and whatever else afterwards.

If they trade three firsts for Myles Garrett and win the Super Bowl, nobody is going to be telling their grandkids, "yeah, they won it all but at what cost?"

All of us would go through what the Rams are right now if it meant getting that Super Bowl.

A 3rd and a 6th? Every day of the week.

Three 1sts? Gotta say no given what Holmes has done in the draft.

Not ready to hit the panic button yet.

Have to agree.

This team has a chance to be good for the next decade.

Don’t take the Rams path for one run at the Lombardi.

While I would take the Rams path if I felt that was my only option, I do not feel that the Lions are boxed into that corner YET.

This is subject to change, but it's what I'm going with now.
