2022 Topps NOW: as we enter the Fanatics Era of Collecting - Page 9

Even though Topps have not been able to issue Seiya Suzuki or Torkelson autos, they are on a pretty high pace for issuing autos / relics this year.
Gonna be really tough choosing what to buy and what to not buy.

I do kinda miss the early 2016 Topps Now, where only base cards existed (no parallels either), and no direct autograph/relic selling options either.
I think Kris Bryant broke that barrier with his relic card mid-way into the season.

I think they always start out pretty hard, right? It does seem like every year they put out more cards (well, that's a fact) and pack in bigger packs to certain days. I guess time will tell ... but as someone who would have paid more than what the Nakken /99 went for, the demand is definitely there. Heck, I'd be okay with another Nakken auto card that's less desirable to the "firsts" collectors out there.

anyone have an idea on vladdy cost? last years was $100, non-relic though.

It's one of the bonuses for every team. Listed on each page.

Hitting for the cycle and 15 Ks from a pitcher are other milestones.

Vlad bonus will happen. Buy with confidence.

OK thanks, just gets confusing as I am sure there will be Vlad 3-HR game cards for regular TN today. Wishing Oneil Cruz had been in the bigs so he could be getting a bonus RTOD card.

I remember when Vlad Jr's stock crashed super hard. I picked up a S2 NNO PSA 9 + Chrome RC PSA 9 combo for $29 shipped. I also got a first Bowman auto from one of those re-pack products that steel city does. I also believe his first TN was my one son's first b-day so those are really the only 4 Vlad Jr cards I need.

Looks like Vlad Jr and Suzuki will be competing for the most TN appearances this season.

The RTOD bonus will be limited to the number of team sets purchased. Might be lower print run...but with regular 3 HR card too... will anyone want the bonus?

The bonus PR will be well below the PR of the base card so the bonus has that going for it.

How do the bonus cards work? I assumed every person who orders a set gets the bonus card. Wouldn't that mean the base card print run and bonus card print runs would be the same?

Base card is standard release available for 24 hrs.

Bonus card is from the RTOD sets that are still available for each team on the Topps website (though sales end tomorrow afternoon). Each set sold will have a bonus card (usually with a gold background) made for special events...in this case, 3 HR's in one game (also bonus for hitting the cycle, 500 ft HR, no hitter or 15 K's in one game).

I hope that helps clear it up as I write from work.

Wow took me a while to figure out what you meant by base card. You mean the current Topps Now offering and not the base card from the RTOD sets. I understand now.

Padres getting some love today!

Dear Platinum Members,

The San Diego Padres made their 2022 home debut yesterday evening, hosting the reigning World Series Champion Atlanta Braves, and downed the champions in convincing fashion - winning 12-1.

Among the great play throughout the Padres lineup and pitching staff, rookie shortstop C.J. Abrams made some personal history by hitting his first career MLB home run. With 5 games under his belt already, it was a great moment to see the 21-year-old go yard for the first time in front of his cheering home crowd. Abrams connected in his very first Petco Park at-bat, sending a fastball from starter Charlie Morton over the outfield wall for a solo home run.

To celebrate what has been the season of rookies thus far in 2022, we are excited to offer the following cards:
