Does Target/Excel have an obligation to Topps to push product out in a timely manner or by a specific date? I know Bowman and megas have had an initial load but there should be more of these since coming back from the physical stores.

In my experience Topps.com does not restock. They just make a single drop of every single product that they sell direct. Target, Walmart, and wherever else that sells cards should do this as well. There is more than a enough new products coming out weekly that there rarely would be a dry week.

Has Target actually said they are going to start selling cards online?

"The safety of our guests and our team is our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve decided to temporarily suspend the sale of MLB, NFL, NBA and Pokémon trading cards within our stores, effective May 14. Guests can continue to shop these cards online, while supplies last." So, it does not specifically say more cards will be listed for sale online, only that you can shop online 'while supplies last'. My thought was that it was just a pause in card sales while they regroup. |

There is just some podcasts with Panini VP DJ that said Target would be pushing the inventory pegged for physical stores at this time online. He said Target was continuing will all existing orders which is something that he would be definitely able to accurately comment on.

With the amount of retail chains that are suffering, it seems like probably a great idea to drive traffic to your stores to get in the card racket. I'm not sure if it's legal to do something like "must spend x amount on non-card items WITH any card purchase" but even if not, a good way to drive consumers to your stores to remember what they're missing by not shopping there.

Oh yes that thread is so official and will surely catch on... There is a difference between small talk\sales (I am all for) and the constant "I'm smarter than you here is what Target needs to do" from the same group of 4/5 guys. It is what led us down the rabbit hole ending with the last thread being locked. I'd like this one to stay unlocked so we can all continue to hopefully get some product from the heads up and actual Target information. Not what his boss thinks.

Target just released their quarterly earning:
https://markets.businessinsider.com/...1-5-1030446775 Looks like they did very well on digital sales (Go bots!!?) Granted not sure how much of that 23% increase over last year was due to card sales , instore or online. But I guess with that growth, why worry about retail cards for this quarter? |
