I will be crucified for this, but I don’t know that Beckett’s intent was what people are inferring. I sent a message when I missed out on the harper logoman last year to a seller that was kinda similar. I didn’t quote price I would pay or what I thought the card was worth, but I wanted to let seller know 2 things... 1) he didn’t do his research on price /potential buyers. I wanted him to feel he made a mistake bc I was upset at how stupid he was In his listing. Not to motivate him to cancel sale but to motivate him to list better in the future or risk losing out on profits. 2) if buyer backed out that I was interested.

In retrospect, I realize the message I sent could be construed as incentive to cancel a sale. But In Honesty I was just mad I missed out and wanted seller to feel like a moron bc I’m a bit of a jerk I suppose

Just for what it’s worth... I don’t have any sort of relationship with buyer, seller, or PhD. If I was Peja I’d be equally as pissed. But not quite clear what PhD motive was....

I think the most damning evidence against PhD right now is his lack or contribution to explain himself. If he really was motivated by anger or frustration like I was, I assume he would have said as much by now...

Its pretty common on the hockey side if you miss a gotta have card for some reason to message the seller and tell them you interested if the buyer backs out.

Even if phd would have offered him 1500$ for it , its the seller that backed out of the deal. He may have not help with (You would have gotten 5X more in auction) but at the end , the seller integrity/name aint worth a couple hundreds.

Like pejc300 said, he wouldve accepted just an apology from phdbeckett. Maybe that couldve happened and all of this couldve been avoided if he confronted him directly instead of blasting him here first on a callout/takedown thread.

I think the majority of the members here are happy he made this thread. Helps to know the "character" of people on these boards for future deals.

It may be more common than we are aware of. I bet this happens a lot and nothing gets said about it. That being said, just because something is routinely done, doesn't make it right. What the Doctor did was wrong. You know it. We know it. He knows it (that is why he is in hiding).

Pejc300 was going to let the issue die if the good doctor would have paid him the difference. Or, if he would have apologized for what he did. He was just asking for some transparency. We know that Doc would have just flipped the card since he already has one or two. And there is nothing wrong with him flipping a card. However, it was what he was doing behind the scenes that is the real issue. It shows his true character and that is also what is making people upset.

In Doc's mind, he is just mad that he got busted and is letting the flames burn out and then he will be back as if nothing ever happened. Look, he ain't the first person who got his hand caught in the cookie jar and came crawling back, right??? and it won't be the last time.

This is as far as I really needed to read. Plus some of the stuff in that thread isn't even accurate.

The thread seemed pretty factual and the offender even made an appearance and backed up the claim that he sucks. Seems like a solid call out thread.

It's a gray area. Sure, the main reason is OP lost money on this.

But it does benefit a lot of people knowing this about a member here. It's definitively warranted.

Also says, The easiest way to contact the mod team is to click the report button. But that seems to be not true because I've hit that button before and no response. So hard to take that thread serious

I can’t imagine a call out thread without an element of frustration from the wronged party.

I think this thread was valuable. It’s good to know who we’re dealing with on here.
