What happens when the SPs are Rookie Debuts in TCU?? Are we sure the SPS dont have parallels? I have a case of Jumbo coming for 590 a box, and I will be opening..

I may get flamed for this, but as long as the top rookie autos aren't redemptions, I'm pretty happy with my small allocation (2 hobby, 1 jumbo) as a long-term hold. I didn't pay anywhere close to current pre-order prices for them, so I'll happy stash them in the closet and wait.

If they're redemptions, I'll likely sell and put the money towards Chrome Update mega boxes to put in the closet instead.

Imo, no color sps in topps chrome. Base rc and color will be in update. Good luck with the rip.

Edit: and I think chrome update will be 44.99 or 49.99.

I don't get why folks are assuming there are no color RC for Jrod or the other sp checklist. The last example we have of this chrome strategy from Topps is the Lindor year and there were color parallels there.

I could be dead wrong, but it seems like the odds are these guys will have color non-autos in this product.

If we're talking about logic here, the checklist doesn't state there are parallels.

It just states that it is not known if there are parallels. Weren't parallels in '15 only discovered as people started to rip? I thought someone posted an article confirming it was also unknown going in.

Topps makes more money on Chrome than Chrome Update. They funnel all chrome update thru target. The financial incentive would be to have Chrome to be a bigger chase as compared to Chrome Update.

Both cardboard connection and beckett state that parallels are for cards 1-220 only.

Not unless they raise the price of megas to $50. Topps doesn't control the prices. Distributors do. Direct from topps for hobby is probably like $60? And $100 for jumbo? That's what the Distributors pay, and then they jack up the price.

To be fair, Blowout controls the prices and the rest follow. They then play with the price based on how many fish bite at different levels. There is no big 3. The other 2 wait and then match the price Blowout throws out.

Depends on what blowout paid for their boxes from the distributor. It might not be that far from the price they're selling. Ex. They sell for $300 but had to pay $200 for the boxes from the distributor hence the distributor sets the original price. Distributors make triple money and Blowout makes double money.

Is anyone really on the fence about buying a box of jumbos for $879 (now $799) based on whether or not the sp have parallels?

Because I think those who are going to pay that price are going to do it regardless and those who were definitely not going to pay that price will not be swayed be the presence of sp parallels.

Yes, but the autos are not part of the base set. The parallels are only for the base set based on what beckett and cardboard connection states. Having parallels of the rcs will definitely help even if it's just the speckle parallels like the vet base sps but I wouldn't be surprised if there's none.
