40/40...what an amazing accomplishment. Only the 6th player in history of MLB. Having a historic season. First DH to go 40/40. Likely to be the first DH to be MVP. It is fun being an Ohtani collector. Ohtani to the moon!!!

Wow. I get it’s cool for a fan to get it but it’s essentially “worthless” since MLB can’t authenticate as the 40-40 HR ball. (Yes I know someone might still be able to sell it but I doubt at a high amount since the buyer will be going off word of mouth that it’s THE ball)

In the Dodgers' first 87 games, Shohei stole 16 bases or 1 SB every 5.4 games.

But in the Dodgers' last 42 games, Shohei stole 24 bases or 1 SB every 1.75 games.

Season wise, Shohei is on pace for 50 SB. But if he keeps up that 1 SB every 1.75 games for the rest of the season, he'll end up around 59 SB.

I had a feeling he’d do it last night. Not in that fashion though. Wow.

What's the difference between a ball being hit into the stands and one being thrown into the stands?

Crazy, this man actually could go 50/50.

I think it’s more egregious that the ball should have been given to Shohei, no?

Yeah that's fair, I've just seen multiple people mention the authentication angle and that's the part I don't get.

I could be wrong, but I believe once the ball exchanges hands and goes off camera, the MLB won't authenticate it. They stopped tracking it once it fell back into play.

It seems like such an easy process to fix for such an important ball.

They stop tracking it. Could they probably still authenticate it, yeah they have cameras everywhere and could do it. But unfortunately they won’t

I thought it was well known that such balls are often marked up by MLB for later authentication? Maybe that's changed?

That grand slam is just another amazing memory for his career. A world series win would be icing on the cake at this point.

I’m gonna be the networks here and barring a Mariners miracle, am rooting for a Dodgers Yankees WS to get Shohei v Judge

And like that, Seanrs is optimistic again!

Sean - I think you're about to see some steady gains in a lot of your lower-end RC collection. Maybe not the super high-pop stuff, immediately, but I would guess a pretty steady rise in a lot of the sneaky, attractive, relatively lower pop stuff.
