Asking the Ohtani experts here. Realistically, how much is a psa 9 bowman chrome rookie auto? Which is preferable, pitching or batting? Also that’s his premier rookie correct?

For all the big ballers out there, rare opportunity to get your hands on a rookie Kanji Auto. Currently in the Fanatics Collect Premier Auction....

I had the Xfractor, the Definitive Patch and the Archives Bat SSP for a week or so but just picked up the base Archives to have both.

Great stuff! That 2020 SCC is one of his best cards IMO.

I got a rookie cup printing plate in today.

I think your question might’ve got lost in the shuffle. I would say this batting is preferred BUT have heard others say pitching. I think it comes down to personal preference. I think price point would be around 6k but could be wrong.

At that price I would probably personally purchase something else but I have specific collecting desires.

I’ll let others chime in, but wanted to bump your question as I do love discussion on the topic.

People should collect what they like. That said, the pros/cons for each are:

Pros for Pitching: 1) Pitching is his first release from Bowman proper, hence the first BCA by definition, 2) He signed pitching preseason when he still cared and wasn't in a TJ cast, hence the beautiful autograph, 3) Pitching was mostly pack pulled, hence worse condition, giving more meaning to the grade.

Cons for Pitching: 1) Gold, Green, and even Blue had some dying pen issues and are very streaky unless you got really lucky, 2) There is no base chrome version of the card, making it a little less "seen"

Pros for Batting: 1) Batting stances are generally more collected than pitching, but also a unique situation with TWP, 2) Mostly redemptions so easy to gem if you pull one, 3) More availability since it was packed in HTA (autos only format) which breakers mowed through.

Cons for Batting: 1) Rigid and mechanical autograph that was signed post TJ, 2) Higher gem mint pop (redemption) so worse value paying for the grade.

Both are great cards. I would try to own both if you can swing it!

That’s really nice looking, even though I hate the Dodgers.

After today, Dodgers have 38 games left. 13 more home runs and 14 more stolen bases to get to 50 - 50. I can see and hope it happens.

He normally has pitching to lean on to get him out of a slump with his bat. Glass half full perspective, but this is a good growth year for him to learn more about himself.
