It is a unique/custom code sent via email.

Thanks for the info. More of a team/player collector than set, but added a card to the registry just in case that's all it takes to unlock some discount code emails. I'm guessing you have a bunch of points in the registry?

I put the submission ID on the outside of the box with the cards in it but then put that inside a padded envelope bubble mailer. This may have contributed to delays but Nationals and summer holidays seem to be contributing as well.

I called PSA at the 9 business day mark, 18 July, to check status. They told me they were backlogged because of Nationals and that they were currently processing orders from 25 June, a 24 day backlog. I called again on 30 July and they were processing orders as of 2 July. So as of 30 July their backlog was worse, 28 days.

Since my 7 July delivered order processed on 6 August I guess that would put them at about 30 days behind. Worse than last week but not by a lot. Makes me think it will normalize and they'll start catching up.

The email notification for Research and ID was interesting since it came in after normal business hours, 8PM. Maybe they are working extended hours during the week to catch up.

Just about a week between ID and Grading. Seems normal.

I haven't bothered to call again to check on backlog status since my order seems to be moving along nicely now. But I am interested if anybody has a current status for that. Just good to know since I know other people who may be submitting soon.

All the steps have moved swiftly. Except assembly.

Here's the tough part: if the grades came quickly after being graded I'd be Ok no matter what the outcome. But assembly takes forever.

The long wait in assembly, the increasing day-to-day wait just makes it so that when I DO get the grades, if they aren't good, I'll feel negative about grading.

I know they are what they are but for some reason the long tease in assembly makes the stakes feel higher.

I'm also trying the Fanatics Collect/PSA Grading Service to compare processing times. Sometimes I'm traveling and it might make sense to send an accumulated raw batch to PSA from my vault. I don't have access to the PSA timeline, but here's what's available:

Won't know for sure until it is returned and we can track shipping from the origin but that has been my understanding. Bulk specials seem to get handled in CA. Ordinary bulk goes to NJ. Based on my own experience with TCG ordinary and special bulk orders.

My last June special came from NJ. So not sure if there is a rhyme or reason to how they do it.
