I dont need a list of reasons why not either, but if you provide said list, i will respond to it as i did. That was the first time ive encountered somebody giving me a “list of why nots” by the way. If you tell me youre simply not interested in trading, i have no problem or issue with that, thank them for their time and i move on as ive done hundreds of times in the past.

He wanted me to take multiple cards of "random" stuff off his hand for a highly desired card. He then told me it would take "no time" to sell 2-3 cards versus the one I already had for sale. He then praises my collection and asks for a charity handout to "do me this favor."

This is a guy that had only been on the forum for a handful of months and I have never spoke to before. I really can't describe this as anything but asinine. And here I am on imaginary trial by this guy about being sleazy.

Sleazy gonna keep sleezing. Random stuff means exactly that. I did not say random junk as you tried to portray to downplay my trade offer and i did not ask you take them off my hands. I have numerous desirable cards that i couldve offered that you couldve easily sold for the same price. You just weren’t interested so we never got that far in the conversation. Charity my ass. Trading you equal value cards is not charity. I did ask you to do me a favor with helping me out with my collection with that specific card as thats what the hobby is to me, helping others achieve their collecting goals when possible. I did praise your collection because regardless of how sleezy you are, your collection is still a nice one. You are incredibly out of touch with reality sleezy.

I have had dozens of positive trades so far this year. Surprise surprise that none have been here on bo and i dont expect to in the future because what i am looking for are very specific things for set building and very specific ohtanis. None of those ever show up here except on extremely rare occasions. It seems Sleazys gonna keep on sleazing, so keep it up.

It depends what you are trying to accomplish. A second year auto is still a decent version of his original autograph. That said, it's not his rookie year so it is likely to not appreciate at the same rate as 2018. If future price is not a concern, it's a fine option.

I did recommend US1 black a few pages back, but the unhinged gentleman in the thread keeps jumping on me for it since I have one for sale on eBay - so I didn't bother mentioning it. Topps Black rookies are all awesome cards and you should certainly consider them.

The card I have been trying/considering to trade is a dual auto, and although they are both legends (Griffey Jr/ Hank), I really just prefer a single auto. Thanks for the advice though!

I know you didn’t ask me but I like the US1 black due to scarcity and condition issues. I think a 9 in that is pretty solid in the long run. Same for the US1 ssp pitching, I think with the low print run of that a 9 is pretty solid. Just my 2 cents though

Edit: I should add that I’m a collector though so 9’s don’t bother me as I couldn’t care less about appreciation for the most part. But I do stand by what I stated on the black as any black Topps card comes with condition sensitivity so I think 9’s still will appreciate well in the long run.

Thanks, appreciate the advice! I haven't seen an Ohtani rc black personally, but the cards of other players I've seen look sharp. My personal collecting preference leans toward autos & #d cards, so tough to have many options when I prefer to trade when cards get over a certain value, like Ohtani's are.

I was asking all Ohtani collectors, so greatly appreciate your advice as well! I think the 2 attributes I look at first are centering and then whitening (especially on colored borders), so that would be my only concern on the black as that is obviously going to be an issue I would assume.

Topps black bordered flagship has always been notorious for difficult 10’s due to edges and corners. Just like clears are hard due to surface. This is unlikely to change any time soon. I think I submitted 13 (?) 700’s and none of them 10’d. And this was years ago.

A lesser known issue on many of the series 2 #700 blacks is a surface dimple that appears in the same place in many of the cards. It is near the name bar on front of the card and is very hard to see on scans and pictures. I am unaware on any sort of common condition issues specific to US1 black borders.

I made an initial offer of $900

He counters at $1150

I counter at $1000

He never responded so I sent him a message on instagram basically stating that it seemed we were close on a deal and I would PayPal him the 1k direct and maybe that would get the deal done.

I also messaged him on eBay, he didn’t respond, I waited 24 hours and messaged again telling him I was very interested in coming to a deal.

I wake up this morning and he took a best offer of 1100….which after fees netted him around $950.

There is one person sleazy in that interatction, and it isn't TrueBlue.

I have never interacted with him, and I've never interacted with you. But your negotiating tactics are as cringy and sleazy as they come. The fact that you don't see that tells me all I need to know about your level of sleaze.
