I assume they're not sending you the rest of the cards - or if they are, it's something you would have to pay extra for.

Its standard for some to not ship base vet. Never heard of any that dont ship inserts, no matter how cheap or abundant they may be.

To add further to the base insert stipulation, a product like Revolution is very insert driven & base cards have some value, especially early in the release cycle.

There's a decent chance your best card from 22/23 Revolution Tmall Premier League soccer will be one of the 3 Tmall exclusive insert sets if don't get an auto and your #ed parallel is a scrub.

That's very different than the dozen Stars of the Game inserts you get in every Topps flagship baseball blaster that COMC needs less of in their system.

That break is being listed at $75 while BO and others are selling that same box for in the $125 range. Not sure if they are trying to move their box cheap or if holding onto the extra cards is helping to make up the difference.

I'm ready to try a jumbo box of 2022 Pro Debut for $110 since that product has some nice upside for the price. But I really need some product specific guidance on what will ship/be kept by the breaker (e.g., Elly base or base Chrome).

That goes for Bowman as well since that could mean a whole lot of paper Bowman and 3rd year Chromes of guys who will never make the majors will flood COMC.

Seems to be the case already.

I just asked ComC via chat what happens to the vet base & base inserts. Their answer "They are kept by the breakers"

Very disappointing.

Free inventory . What breaker wouldn't jump at the chance to participate in this

I mean sure, I guess. If it is anything like us collectors who buy a bunch of blasters. The vet base get thrown in 5000 count box, get rejected for trade attempts, than eventually pitched.

I have never done a box break and don't intend to, but the fact they aren't charging for the processing fees on at least the hits seems like a good thing. I can see once the program is up and running and if successful, they will eventually start charging a processing fee for hits from breaks.

One thing that is a certainty on the COMC platform is that they will find a way to nickel and dime you for everything!!

So I just received a follow up email, stating

"I am contacting you back to correct the information I provided, with regards to the base cards from the breaks, we only process the rookies and parallels automatically, however if requested, we could process the base at the Standard processing rates."

Don't think the breakers are trading base these days.

They throw them in a box , set the boxes on the table at shows. Wait for people to buy and sit back to collect the free money. That's what I would do at least if I were a breaker and was getting free inventory.

Yeah, dime boxes at a card show. That seems like a good idea. Just let them get picked over.

Yes, typically that's what happens with all value boxes. They eventually get picked over.

How does this work when other feedback is “breaker keeps base cards”?

All of this seems rushed and not well thought out.

An easier way to do this is:
All rookies and “hits” and “1sts” get processed for free.
Customer has option to request processing of anything else.
All remaining cards ship to customer for a fixed fee. Customer can refuse that shipping if they so choose.

Yea, very disappointing. When I first read about this program, I would have probably done a few box breaks but that ain't happening anymore.

Quick question for those in the know. I sent the 20 graded cards I posted about a few weeks back and they were in my account first thing this morning. I noticed that they all show the "Stored Remotely" notice. Is this normal on the day they get put into inventory? I sent them to the Redmond Washington address and unless they shipped them to Canada(for whatever reason), I would expect that they would not be delayed for shipping? Also, I priced them all for what I thought were fair priced BIN on Comc and 12 of the 20 sold within the first 2 hours! I would still like to Ebay a couple, but if this is any indication, they might not be around long enough to do that. Thanks again for everyone's reply in the past and going forward!

They have multiple warehouses in Washington. I think they are picked up, brought to other locations to be scanned and evaluated, and they will then make their way to the primary location. Sometimes it only takes a few days for them to not have the stored remotely label.

I'm assuming RC cards get processed, or does the breaker get to keep those also

It probably also means that COMC will be flooded with rookies, while star players (and commons) will be scarcer on the site.

According to what they told me, vet base & base inserts are not included in your box break processing. However, if you chose to pay processing fees, they would add them to your account.

Guy, thats already the case. Have you seen the number of Mosaic and Prizm rookies from 19-20 to now?

Anyone using the app yet?

Does it have any added features?

Just got the app. I know others have had it for longer--would welcome thoughts from you all.

* Need to fire up the old iPad and try it there but based on the screenshots in the ios store listing vs what I'm seeing in Android, the overall look and feel on ios is much cleaner. Sigh..

* In the iOS screenshot it shows a blue dot with a number showing number of new results on a saved search (similar to ebay app). Great feature. If you could get notifications on new listings, that'd be amazing.

* Search, browse and buy features are all solid.

* Would love to see sold items summary and be able to get notifications for sales. Fine-tuned controls for notifications will be needed.

* Watch List experience is subpar. When I go back to the list after doing any sort of interaction with a watched item, it brings me back to the tip of the list instead of bringing me to where I was.

* There are some defects. Elite image thumbnails aren't loading. The "owned" border effect shows up on cards I sold ages ago.

* I implore COMC to treat this as the #1 priority that it should be.
