Are you actually attending these or sending your employees again?

Two meetings today for me. One I have to run and one I just get to sit back and relax in. Total of 9 meetings this week. Open enrollment for benefits starts today too.

The state sent out tax rebates this morning because they over charged us this year. Nice to get $800 randomly, but I'm still not happy they can just say we screwed up, here is your money with no interest.

But that is what happens to everyone who gets a Federal or State refund for the previous year's taxes. The Government uses your money and collects interest on it and then returns the "overpayment" by you. It's a pretty good scam. Why do you think the Federal Government got into the student loan business? It wasn't out of the kindness of their hearts to better educate it's people. It was for the money to be made off interest.

Today is my Friday - I'm taking tomorrow and Friday off to visit my best friend in CT. I always go down to see at least one of his son's football games and I finally have the time available to do it this weekend.

Which just means I have to do about a million things in 24 hours.

Oh, I understand. That's why I had my CPA set up where I am as close to $0 every year on my taxes.

And the student loan thing is a crazy system. Before I paid mine off, they would try to get me to pay under what I owed because I had overpaid months before.

There was a fatal shooting in the parking lot of a local Lowes two weekends ago. Guy was shot at close range standing beside his car.

Find out he lived in the cul de sac below our street. 49 year old Indonesian man, lived by himself in a $400k house. Police are not releasing any details at this point. They have had white vans at his house removing stuff for the past week. Rumors abound. I don’t know if I ever saw him because I generally avoid the weirdos and drama that eminate from that specific cu de sac. However my son said his classmate that lives in the cul de sac, a 10 year old, told him he used to go over his house to play pool with him. Alone.

One of the rumors is human trafficking. Now my wife is freaking out. I told her if it’s true, someone took care of the problem themselves.

This is why I tune into the Seneca Channel.

You never know what wild story you'll hear. That's crazy. Did they catch the shooter?

It's amazing the kind of stuff that people do right under the public's nose. I know people that are into some illegal stuff that are very valued members of the community around here. If people only knew where they got that money from.

They did get the shooter but they aren’t releasing any info at all other than saying it was a “isolated, targeted attack”.

I’m more shocked by the apparent procreation.

I’ve lived here for 3.5 years and can’t say that I’ve ever seen the guy. I can literally look into his backyard and deck from my front porch and I’ve never seen anyone back there.

It’s weird, but so is that whole little cul de sac. It’s like it’s own ecosystem.

Please keep us updated on the story, it sounds like it could get interesting. But, the best way to not get caught is to be somebody that easily forgotten and that fits in with everybody else. Most people get caught because they want to be flashy.

I honestly don’t think I’ll hear much of anything else. It seems there was definitely something going on and they may be using it in and ongoing investigation.

Trying to get hospice setup for someone who was previously homeless has been very difficult. Had to call an ambulance for him. They asked what my plan was if they discharge him home.

Honestly that is a good question. Assuming he is found to be put into hospice unnecessarily.

There's a homeless guy that lives in the park down the street from my house. Yesterday the weather was terrible, and I was over there for work, guy asked if he could go in the restroom (we winterized them already, so they aren't open), I opened it for him and told him I would come back to lock it up. Just so happens, I "forgot" to go back and lock it. I'm going to throw him a care package together and take it down there. When we do our summer rec program over there, I always hide a plate or 2 for him when meals get dropped off.

I've had people tell me that I shouldn't help him, but it's not in me to just let somebody struggle. We have 0 help around here for people. Maybe not 0 help, but 0 help for somebody like him, drug and criminal past.

I thought our fire department tanker got hit earlier in the hour as the Active 911 system alerted our station to a Motor Vehicle Collision involving a Fire/EMS Vehicle on MD-210 right by our station. I know our tanker had been called for a fire in Accokeek. Our Chief, Engine 73 and Ambulance 79 (with my SD) responded. It turned out to be Tenth District's (Marbury) tanker.

Accident involved them and a Ford with the tanker rolling over. My SD ended up transporting the fireman to the hospital while the Navy's ambulance took the driver of the Ford.

I thought for sure it was going to be our tanker especially as we have had bad luck lately. Last night, the belts came off the engine as our Rescue Engine responded to a MVC.

I talked to my GEICO claim adjuster this morning. He supposedly will have the paperwork for the last supplemental payment to the collision center completed today. That and detailing the car is all that was left.

Getting ready to head out for our Pee Wee Division Championship night. We should have 2 good games, but its going to be cold. Tomorrow is the Junior Semi Finals and those games might get ugly. The championship games Saturday morning are going to be cold.
