$15,000 is my guess. One of his followers will drop some serious coin on it.

I cannot figure out the allure of Gary Vee.

Lots of cringey memes that feature him and vague advice qualified by an f-bomb. His entire personality is just.. Off-putting.

But apparently a lot of people don't think that, because he has an insane amount of followers.

He merely strikes me as a guy who loves being a cult of personality and takes joy in finding any way to put your money in his pocket. He and Vegas Dave occupy the same territory for me.

I'm too self righteous to worship someone else. That's why I collect vintage.. All my guys are dead.

I never thought I'd see a Blowout thread where collectors are praying for Gary V's blessing

We are living in strange times indeed.

I don't think we're praying for it. Some of us who got in early, wouldn't mind the publicity. He's been too quiet... way too quiet.

There's only 2,911 Ermsy Trouts available. Once these settle into collections, they won't be easy to find. Same can be said about many of the early print runs. Just food for thought
The Gold Update RC is /2011 and is always available....

Yeah, regardless of how you feel about him, he's built his brand and followers and people will jump on board with him just for him opening his mouth.

My co-worker was talking to me about a year and a half ago about sports cards. I showed him some of my collection and he thought it was stupid. Couldn't believe the money going for stuff. And he's a big sports and podcast guy.

About 6 months ago, I get a random text asking if I could teach him how to invest in sports cards. This came out of no where. I said why the random interest? He said he had heard its underpriced.

Jokely I asked, who did you hear that from, Gary Vee? He paused and was like, "Yeah, actually I did. How did you....?". I chuckled to myself. That's when I realized the power of the almighty Gary Vee.

To much bad vibes in this now. For everyone that bought straight from Topps you are fine and will make money. Last weekend to many people jumped on the bandwagon and caused a crazy uptick in the lower PR cards. In a week or two the market will correct itself. You can find a few steals from the panic sellers. I tell Everyone collect what you like and have fun with it.

Do you want to know why people are into the GaryVee allure? Because it works. If he was full of it, he wouldn't be getting as much pub and followers as he gets.

People take his advice, put it into action, and see positive results.

I'm sure he does love the attention, who wouldn't? At the same time, I think he offers a lot of free content that he could easily charge for. If you're a business owner and you're not following his advice on social media use, you're doing yourself a disservice.

No one is praying for his blessing. People just know what happens when he speaks. He has a lot of sheep. I think the guy is a tool as well. But again, he has a lot of sheep.

People act surprised by the sudden crash. They thought this was all about the collectors, I mean we saw 800+ pages of pump up shoe gifs and pump quotes.

Me neither.

This is fun, and I got in early, but I love my Mantle, DiMaggio and early Jeter autographs, and all of those cards I own from the 1960's and 1970's.

My opinion, my life. Just enjoy.

I don't "follow" anyone.

Gonna be rough on a lot of speculators when he only speaks on it for 10-20 seconds and onto the next topic.

The Memorial Day Crest, it's a slow drudge from here for anyone trying to speculate on new purchases.

I wonder what raws will go for once people started getting these back from PSA (or SGC for the quick flippers). I imagine these will Gem Mint pretty easily.

5 days ago - “StockXSneakerboi6969 just cancelled my $1500 BIN and relisted (Insert P2020 Card here) for $2000. What a jerk!”

Today - “StockXSneakerboi6969 just cancelled his winning bid of $115 for my (Insert Same P2020 Card here). What a jerk!

This entire “Project” has been such a Mickey Mouse Operation. Seriously, where are all the popcorn memes...

I'm sure it was a total accident

I actually never even looked at the pic of the back, it pretty much does say 4/200 and doesn't even look that bad imo lol

I'm pretty sure he'll be talking with Blake and Baller for a little more than 20 seconds. His format on his show is that he speaks with each person he has on for a good while

I didn't believe the whole "art collectors are what's fueling this!" line of thinking, but it was a lot of fun watching and being a part of the hype and it's clearly been a phenomenon within our community and the "collector" and "cook" groups that exist nearby.

It was a lot more fun when people were making imaginary (and real) dollars and having fun pumping. Only a select few get off on dumping on people. But whether your kink is pumping or dumping, to each their own. I'm-a gonna be over doing my thing.
