Ohh... I've talked to eBay.

I get a canned "the system automatically generates your selling limits" answer every time.

To each their own, store your cards however you are comfortable. We all hobby differently.

If you list enough stuff it will kick it up automatically at levels that low, or at least it used to. Try listing $24999 of stuff, if it doesn't happen automatically, call them while you have $24999 listed. If that doesn't work maybe they've changed their policies. $25k seems pretty low for the sports cards category, but maybe you don't have a large sales history?

That's weird. Even when I first started my limit was $90,000 a month.

Yea, I really don't know what this issue is.

I did $55k in sales during the month of July... all $.99 let it ride auctions.

Can't get a straight answer from them.

(I am assuming you own a house if you have cards worth putting in a bank vault)

Maybe I am missing something.
I have a house but don't want the cards where someone could steal them....I figure it's easier to steal from a house rather than a bank...but I could be wrong. Also if someone were to come bust through my door and hold a gun to my head and tell me to unlock my home vault....well goodbye cards.

At least with a bank vault, they couldn't open it even if they wanted bc there are two sets of keys per box.

Unlimited money printing, no interest/low interest loans, artificially held down inflation and a complete fiasco with GameStop should tell you what is about to happen with cash.

The melt up of money is making anything other than cash very "valuable".

Nice cards pcp! That Impeccable is a neat looking design.

Default Patrick Mahomes Prices

I prefer the home fire proof safe route. I want my cards in my possession for viewing, selling, trading, pictures. The whole gun to the head thing... idk, get a rottie?

When is his stuff gonna get cheaper? I’ve been looking for deals. His stuff has dropped less since the SB L than it did after the W. Gotta love this market.

“Fire proof” safes won’t cut it for me. I looked at purchasing and they are “rated” 30-60 minutes. But what about smoke damage? And what if the fire last more than an hour? I dislike not being able to look at them whenever I please, but nothing beats the peace of mind for me.

There's probably so many of us looking for steals right now that it's driving the prices up LOL

Just to add to this, fireproof safes aren't heatproof. They are designed to try to stay below 350 degrees, which is when paper starts burning. It's more than hot enough to melt plastic: ie all your slabs, toploaders, etc.

I think there’s a lot of truth to what you both said. How many people want to sell right after a loss? They know it wouldn’t be the ideal time. And buyers are thinking the opposite, what a great time to buy!

Noted for next year, SB loss and prices go up, Super Bowl win and prices go down

His prizm has dropped about 30% since week leading up to Super Bowl so I don't think this is true. Perhaps for other cards?

While I understand what JoeAdam, Sleepercards, and Onepocketj are saying, the truth is there are very limited options when you have hundreds of thousands of dollars of cards sitting at your house. In doing research, having the best "fire proof" safe doesn't always protect your cards from smoke, heat, water, or the actual fire if it lasts long enough. Also, safety deposit boxes aren't that secure, nor do they offer much, if any, insurance coverage. Not to mention they are comparatively expensive. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/19/b...box-theft.html I agree with tjforce. I'm not morally ecstatic doing business with PWCC, but all of us do business with businesses that are morally corrupt (it's almost inherent, really). Who here has a Wells Fargo banking account? Who here has a pair of Nike shoes? The fact is, PWCC runs one of the best service models in the industry as tjforce already detailed. That's not to say there aren't unsavory dealings they've made in the past. In fact, you can go back to my posts from 2018-19 when the scandal first broke - I was no PWCC apologist. However, with whom exactly are we supposed to be auctioning off our high dollar cards with? They all have past issues - all of them. My preferred way is to do face-to-face dealings at the big shows, but a) that's not realistically possible right now and b) instead of going to a show with 20k in cash, I'd need 200k in cash and I'm not comfortable putting myself in that position. We are where we are in this hobby and people are trying to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. And, yes, that at times means having to factor in all of the (limited) options, and making choices which other's will question knowing that even they aren't totally comfortable with it.

Just my 2-cents.

Safety deposit box @ a local bank that I can access 6 days a week. It takes me basically 30 minutes round trip (including retrieving the card from the SD box) to access. I have a safe at the house and the bank is waaaay more secure than my house - fire, water and other potential issues.

And the box I am renting is a lot bigger than I need....but cost like $115 or so for the year - VERY inexpensive for the contents.

Again, if someone breaks into my house....what good is a safe if they threaten the lives of your or your family? Any one of you would open it instantly.

My bank charges me a grand total of $5 a month for a medium sized box.

In order to not run out of room, I only put rookie cards in there. All the cards are in a thick zip lock, in a closed box, within the steel wall of drawers, in a vault in a bank........and most importantly out of the sun lol.

Also yes, Mahomes prices are dropping........to what they were before the SB week. There aren't a ton but there are deals to be had. My buddy last night pulled the trigger on a RPA Ruby /10 Limited Mahomes. Pre-SB that would have fetched a few grand more. Post-SB...got a solid deal.

INVEST lol

That's because most safety deposit boxes carry a few hundred to a few thousand dollars of insurance coverage. If you have a half-million in cards, that ain't cutting it.

I am 99% sure a ton of those high sells weren't paid for before the SB. That is always the first card to get manipulated. Like I said before the SB, its Ebay's way of giving buyers a free loan. People weren't paying for those until after the SB to see if they won.

Thought about going after that limited RPA, solid pickup for the price I think.

This is what I’ve been saying. Prices are going to seem like they fell dramatically in some cases. But only because the entire Mahomes market doubled in 3 weeks

EXACTLY. Prices are now back to what they were a few weeks before the SB.
