What kind of boxes are we talking here? The basic stuff like Update or the super high end like Dynasty or Museum?

I think a secret santa of sorts would be better. That way, everyone is guaranteed to get a card they want instead of possibly getting nothing.

Probably not ultra high end as that's still too expensive for me personally, plus then everyone probably wouldn't get some cards, but I'd be in favor of a little bit nicer than Update. Not sure what yet, we'd have to decide based on who all is interested

Heritage, Finest, Stadium Club, Archives are all do able products.

Those would be good ones that are more affordable and make sure everyone goes home with some cards, but they're not overly exciting and don't have much of a chance at any big hits. Something like Triple Threads would cost a bit more and definitely give us a shot at some bigger hits, but depending on how many boxes we get, we start getting into the area where it's likely someone goes home empty handed. In that case we'd probably have to switch to a hit draft or something like that, but would still need a few boxes to give everybody something

Look at the 2015 high number checklist. $90 for a chance to hit a rookie auto of Bryant, Correa, Syndergaard, Buxton, Russell, Franco, or Rodon. Plus all those error cards

The box idea isn't bad, but my collection is pretty specific. I only collect a couple of guys. I know others are different, but the only stuff I'm buying right now are Sale autographs. So I don't know if random Sox cards would excite me.

Only prob with that is determining who gets the hit if it's a higher dollar card. It it's not '15 HHN and something that has a more diverse checklist, I'd say just give it to whoever's team it is, but if we go for '15 HHN or something similar, how do we decide who gets the Cubs and Astros? Everyone would want them just in case of a Bryant or Correa, as those are the biggest 2 hits and not really much opportunity for anything else high dollar. We'd almost have to exclude them and then hold a random

It's amazing that Bam has Trout, Bryant, and Correa in his lineup and he still doesn't have the best team in the league IMO.

AWZ could surprise people. If he adds a couple veteran starters, I think he'll be competitive next year.

I'm probably done with any big trades for the offseason, but I'm still willing to trade lower-mid tier players such as McCann, Heyward, Severino, and a few others.

Btw, McCann > Vogt for anyone in need of a catcher

Our league has 3 distinct groups- Top tier teams/favorites (bam, Gum, HR, tex), middle of the pack guys that are all around .500 (myself, jacfire, exit, KidGriff, deathy), and then the bottom of the pack for now (Firerunner, awz, and SAF). Gonna be interesting to see who breaks out of which groups and when. Tough to make drastic improvements/get worse very quickly with how many players we get to keep

It's better like this to see how teams can grow through trades and a draft with only minor leaguers/international signings/lower-mid tier major leaguers. I'd rather be in a league like this with 25 keepers than one with about 3 keepers where the teams that are on top can change every season.

Oh definitely, it's going to be fun to have a lot of control over the same group of guys over a long period of time. There's just 2 ends of the spectrum, and we are pretty far to one end. That makes it much more difficult to change your team
