I won 1 ff game. Just waiting to see if I can pull off a win in the other. My team is going into this evening with a pretty big lead. They have two players left though.

I was woken up at 3AM because a CO is in a hissy fit about still not being able to send e-mail between cutters and wanted the issue escalated. This is the same issue I was called yesterday around 7PM and called my Exchange Lead to work on it and the same issue we had last weekend. My Exchange guy has found nothing wrong with his stuff so it must be a SATCOM or network issue; neither of which my Task Order handles.

Railroad strike update:

I couldn't find any other plans but Norfolk Southern's. NS is closing the incoming gates to all intermodal trailers and containers at noon at Tuesday. This means no new goods will be leaving ports or accepted coming from warehouses, UPS, FedEx, etc. On Wednesday at 0001, all gates will be closed to automotive shipments from factories. Without an agreement not to strike on Friday from the two remaining unions (conductors and engineers), the railroads will continue to shutdown.

I have a couple friends who are current and former railroad engineers and conductors that posted their union literature blasting the railroads for this saying they are holding the American people and shippers hostage to force them into an agreement. Of course they forget the security consequences of them just walking off the job Friday leaving thousands of gallons of hazardous materials by cities that someone could blow up or the economic consequences of leaving all of these goods sitting all over the country on mainlines where people could break into them and steal everything like they do in downtown LA.

I'm right there with you. The NFL is meaningless to me.

The only way I know three outcomes from yesterday is that they mentioned that the Dolphins beat the Patriots during the Yankees game, a friend of mine complained about his Jets losing on Facebook, and my Mom congratulated me on the Steelers beating her Bengals; of course she knows I haven't followed the NFL in years, but.

I wonder what major city the seat belt part is stuck by. I pictured New Orleans for some reason.

Oh both sides are at fault in this one. Unfortunately, Class 1 railroads aren't owned or run by railroaders anymore. They are owned by Equity Firms and run by accountants. They only care about the bottom line and who cares about the shippers, public, and employees.

On the other side, you have the unions who only care about their employees and don't care about the railroad, shippers, and public.

I would never get into a debate on Facebook about it because there are so many pro-union employees and their families slamming the railroads for beginning the shutdown. All it would take not to shutdown is a commitment from the unions not to strike or the union accepting responsibility if they walked off a train with hazardous materials outside DC and someone blew it up sending toxic chemicals towards the Federal Government or if they are willing to pay for everything that's stolen off railcars.

I actually hadn't thought about this. It is very possible that my seat belt part may be in a container stuck in a port unable to move to the East Coast because of this.

I'm not sure where the entire seat belts are made, but the part that was known to explode on other Hyundai models is made in South Korea.

Reserved my tailgate spot for homecoming at Newberry College this morning. They are up to #13 nationally. Not bad for a school with just over 1,100 students.

Make sure to turn your grill off when you go into the stadium. You don't want to be like the Dolphins fan yesterday who forgot to turn his off and destroyed several cars including his own.

I doubt we even make it in the stadium. If we do, it will be for a few minutes just to say we went in. Last year, me and some friends just walked around to various tailgates and hung out. Some of them we didn't know, but a small campus like we have, you know everybody.

It’s usually a mix of fault on both sides when strikes happen. Generally greed and lack of concern for anyone else is the root cause, on both sides.

This sounds no different.

My sister's wedding was good this weekend. Driving 7 hours on Friday and 7 hours yesterday had me sleeping like Saraste last night though.

I of course got stuck sitting with my father most of the time, and him trying to make conversation about how the past is the past and moving on - all while him telling me family stories that contradict it.

Could have been worse though, whatever. My sister and new BIL had a ton of fun and were super happy and I'm happy for them.

Now I have a case of the Mondays.

Constant rule changes

Players kept fighting against real drug tests indicating most of them are probably roided up

A lot of them are thugs who are usually allowed back in the league after beating wives, girlfriends, killing dogs, drunk driving, drugs, etc. with no real punishments and no jail time

Kaepernick BS spreading to most teams not standing for National anthem/Too many BS social justice/woke causes being forced down fans throats

Seems like all of those apply to baseball, right?

Here's what Biden's Presidential Review Board recommended which wasn't good enough for the 2 unions.

Quote:
they include a 24% compounded raise over five years, plus $1,000 bonuses for each of five years, plus no significant changes to a robust health care and retirement package
Doesn't sound to shabby considering, our company usually gives no more than a 3% annual raise, no one but Program Managers and up receive guaranteed annual bonuses, and our retirement plans were eliminated years ago.

1. Like who?

2. But you have no concern about the amount of paid patriotism being forced down people's throats in professional sports?
