There's possibly another Live Action Pinocchio coming.
Tom Hanks is zeroing in on another children’s favorite. We are hearing that he is in early negotiations to play Geppetto in Disney and Robert Zemeckis’ live-action retelling of Pinocchio.

Disney going too far with these live-action remakes.

Haven't seen the re-remake, zero interest. Have seen the terrible remake a number of times, mostly b/c my wife likes watching terrible holiday-themed movies. (Looking at you, Hallmark.)

Original 1974 "Black Christmas" is airing later tonight (11pm) on Turner Classic Movies (TCM).

Has anyone heard anything about a release of Run Sweetheart Run? I know Amazon bought it to release on Prime, but then nothing.

Has anyone seen Annihilation? Gonna launch into that tonight I think. Saw like 15 seconds of some bear creature and that was all it took to get me.

I enjoyed it interesting movie. A little confusing but if you watch it a second time it makes more sense. I think it was solid overall though.

Do you watch all this horror by yourself? Or does your significant other join in?

It's a real shame this film doesn't give more love and publicity. Absolutely one of the best movies that uses its "diversity" to create a more compelling and memorable narrative instead of forcing things and then throwing a fit when audiences don't like it.

Set Annihilation next to the all-female Ghostbusters and you'll see why it's so frustrating that Hollywood keeps making the same mistakes.

Watching Krampus with the family. This movie is so close to perfection.

Great atmosphere.
DOES SATIRE RIGHT. (It both mocks and praises the strengths of conservatives and liberals.)
Leans more on practical effects than CGI.
Every character has a redeeming quality.
Most of the jokes land without being distracting.

My biggest problem the movie punishes THE ONE character who still has the Christmas spirit. Literally the entire world has forgotten the meaning of the holiday except this kid, but the split second he lapses—boom—the devil comes to claim his family.

It would have been so much more consistent to have the grandmother give the kid the Christmas as a gift, then have one of the antagonistic cousins steal and break the bell to summon Krampus. Ultimately Krampus should have spared the kid like he did the grandmother only to have the kid refuse to watch his family taken and fought back. Each of the family members start to see the redeeming qualities in each other and Krampus is defeated. Roll credits.

The all-male version of Ghostbusters wasn't much better, but people sure do likes their Bill Murray in full-smug mode. (Even I'm a sucker for Ernie "Big Ern" McCracken). We should also remember that "Ghostbusters II", with the same dudes as the original was also ghastly bad. This does not bode well for the next Ghostbusters which is trying out the idea for the first time with a younger cast. If we're lucky, it'll be as good as "The Monster Squad".

As for "Annihilation", it's a mind-bender, all right, and well worth watching. Like most of the best movies, though, it's designed for people who can put down their phones long enough to actually watch a movie.

"Annihilation" was filmmaker Alex Garland's followup to his widely acclaimed 2014 directorial debut, "Ex Machina". And for another taste of his visionary ideas, try his FX (on Hulu) miniseries from earlier this year called "Devs".

Not a fan, and it's definitely not horror.

Did you just hate on the OG Ghostbusters? Lmao! That thing is a classic. But yes, its not horror. Its a comedy IMO. And not a horror-comedy blend...just straight comedy.

Ex Machina is great, fwiw. I own that one.

I ended up not getting to Annihilation last night, but plan to today. Borderlands 3 got me first.

I must've been like Egon when I was a kid (but I sure liked Blazing Saddles, Airplane, and Caddyshack).
I saw Ghostbusters at the movies, but don't remember laughing much, and didn't "get" the wide appeal it already had. The sequel was even worse, cartoons of it, not good. Obviously, the one with the women didn't go over, so next up, kids. Maybe I'm just not into ghost busting. Maybe I'm on the side of the ghosts.

Merry Evil Christmas, horror movie fans!
(I'm watching Wonder Woman '84 and Soul on Disney+ today, but I'll top it off with something sinister. There's a new Creepshow Holiday special on Shudder.)

Reactivated my Shudder account as they have added some new movies this year that I really wanted to see. Watched Noroi from 2005 for the first time this past week. All I can say is wow. One of the best horror movies ever made.

Glad to see someone finally saw Leslie Vernon. Brilliant movie. You are now the 23rd person on the planet to watch it.

Fantastic meta-slasher film. Loved it.

Ready or Not was also a brilliant film that played with a lot of horror tropes in creative ways.

Loved Itsy Bitsy almost exclusively for its decision to use practical effects for the giant spiders rather than silly CGI. Gave me some serious 1980s creature feature nostalgia.

Watched Frozen on Hulu....not bad. Low budget film, stuck on a ski lift with no help and freezing temps. Not great, but not bad either.

Went 80's horror last night and watched Sleepaway Camp. Talk about a twist ending! That was good enough to make me want to watch the whole franchise.

It’s fantastic. What is it on now? I probably haven’t watched in in close to 10 years. Need to rewatch

Haha, I saw it in the Theatre with my Brother and we both loved it. I don't think it's underrated, I think like you said only 23 people have seen it. Love all the Easter Eggs they place in the movie as well.
