The downside though is low batting average/high power lineups don't usually fare to well over the long haul in today's game. Usually a recipe for failure in the post season (look at Giants). Getting shut out twice in nine games isn't a good sign.

After last years crappy season I will take a playoff appearance and be happy. The Yankees with the addition of Soto and Verdugo should cut down on strikeouts in the long run. I think with today’s pitchers dropping like flies the batters will gain an advantage as the season goes on.

I just couldn’t believe how long yesterday’s game seemed. We were out forever and still caught the end of the game at home.

Schmidt even on his best days will only go 6 innings and give you a stroke watching him try to pitch out of jams. Staked to a 6-0 lead yesterday he couldn’t even get through 5 innings.

His homer made it 9-3 at the time, the only reason it seems significant is because the bullpen crapped the bed. I hate when players act the fool when there is no reason. Basically that home run meant nothing. If it were a go ahead 3 run homer sure, a solo shot to make the score 9-3 with your team on the losing end is bush.

You mean it wasn’t. It just seemed like forever, we left the house at the time the game started, here is what we did in the time we were gone. Went to my wife’s friends house and made arrangements on how we were driving to today’s funeral. Went to a restaurant for lunch, got the SUV washed at the car wash, stopped in 2 Walmarts and a Walgreens on the way to picking up our son, stopped at KFC because my son wanted to try the new spicy chicken nuggets, that took forever as fast food is anything but fast. After all that we still got home for the bottom of the 8th.

Someone should write a book, things you could during a game in the 2000’s compared to things you could do durng a game today.

Is it just me or is the whole finger to the lips, shhhh, thing outdated, over played, and just plain ret@rded? Vlad Jr made me think of it, but he's far from the only clown that does it.

The AL East is down this year with the exception of Baltimore. The Blue Jays lack pitching and the Red Sox/Rays are developing young talent.

Baltimore is also young, but I see the Yanks taking the division and Baltimore a wild card. Yankees are mostly vets and that should pay off....Volpe is off to a great start a Jasson will return. Stroman was an underrated acquisition and I expect a bounce back from Rodon.

I just think a Luis Arreaz type would be a good addition to counter Stanton and Rizzo...

Wow, four insults in a single line on an anonymous baseball card forum! What a tough guy! Well done, Pete! I'm guessing you project into these forums every last little thing you hate about yourself, from your poor understanding of the English language and of its grammar, to your general lack of education and intelligence, to your racist "clown" and "No Barry Hall" talk, to your ad hominem attacks against random and mostly kind people on the internet. Here's to Pete on Blowout! May you one day wake up and realize that everything you put out into the world eventually comes back and hits you in the face, or, in your case, slaps you. Because only a certain type of person deserves a certain kind of slap by their own karma, if you understand what I'm saying (and I'm guessing you probably don't).

I'm not sure if the move was legal or not (by the pitcher) but it sure looks bush league.

Yea gotta look at the batter. From what I could see the pitch shouldn't have happened. But I'm sure Angel is unaware of the rules.
