My thought is that the Ohtani and Soto cards will be placed into the Fanatics Exclusive Blaster boxes. I think it will already be one of the better formats to rip with the extra packs, aqua parallels and memorabilia redemptions, but the addition of those short prints would make them amazing.

I wish I could figure out how to post pictures because I just had an insane hobby case. My first two cases (1 hobby and 1 jumbo) were fine but this was great.

Aaron Judge Heavy Lumber Auto (really cool card)
Evan Carter 1989 Auto Red /25
Corbin Carroll Silver Pack Orange Auto /25
Derek Jeter Blueprint Red /10
Elly Gold /2024
Elly Blueprint Blue
Arenado and McCutchen HFA

Those are just the highlights. Absolutely bonkers.

That's actually kind of cool, assuming they actually executed it correctly and there aren't multiple of each "First" card.

I think the platinums will be more valuable, but for me personally, I would prefer the first card of a player I collect over the platinum.

I hope they're backwards and easy to see, but it wouldn't surprise me if they were mixed in by accident or intentionally.

I pulled two SSP's in 2022 Topps Update that were mixed in with base. If I hadn't recognized the different images I'd have rifled right past them.

Man, been watching break aftter break. This product is absolutely brutal. I was always an avid personal box breaker....until now. Did a team break for less than the price of a Hobby box and came away w/ a rookie auto and a city connect relic. Also, last year I did about 8 jumbo boxes of flagship chrome & 4 boxes of cosmic chrome and got pretty much skunked so that's still lingering.

Godspeed to all that are doing personal boxes/cases on this stuff.

Look at my case just a few posts up. Not exactly brutal.

I'll strongly disagree here, I've seen numerous solid case breaks, honestly I think this is one of the better flagship releases in quite some time.

Too many people focus on rookies with flagship, my opinion, I think Series 1 and Series 2 will always sell well regardless of rookie content.

Design is solid this year, good number of chase cards in each case (heavy lumber, team logo variant, photo variant, gold mirror, HTA), went away from a manu-patch in every jumbo box as a hit. Feels like every jumbo case has a decent vet autograph. I'm really liking this release!

It's all luck. You win some, you lose some. I've had cases where I felt like it was highway robbery and some that I felt i needed some extra lube.

Hahahahaha! Yikes. Extra lube. You're correct. I'm just really trying to internalize the odds now so I don't continue to get destroyed (and now, picking my team breaks when those odds just seem too long vs. a personal break).

Mildy entertaining watching breaks of this stuff. The Elly 89 Platinum 1/1 auto was pulled in a BrewTown break yesterday.

Still had $100 in Loupe credit from my PSA account last year. Royals seem cheap in the PTY case breaks and will test my luck in one of them for the first time.

I broke two Jumbo cases and got nothing I would call "amazing", but I think there is a a better than even chance I'll come out ahead. Flagship remains one of the products with a few chances to hit something massive and a good enough floor where you don't lose your shirt.

Same here. 2 jumbo cases

But my return has been really good on what I’m selling

Series 1 the first 2 weeks resale is amazing

Good for BrewTown! Didn't realize they pulled it. I like those guys.

People's opinion on this release will always be tied to their experience with THEIR case. If I opened your hobby case I would think this is one of the best releases ever....beautiful cards, amazing hits, rare parallels, top rookies., etc.

My hobby case was the exact opposite, so I think this is a really bad release (not really, but in my situation I was really bummed and didn't enjoy it very much.)

I could only make 4 sets from my case....literally 1000+ doubles, triples, etc.

0 golden mirror, 0 team color parallels, 0 heavy lumber, 0 true photo variations, 0 numbered autographs (all base version), 0 numbered relics (all base version), 1 rookie parallel (a rainbow foil of Jose Ferrer).

I DID get two Home Field Advantage, but they were Arenado and McCutchen. Nothing against those players, but they don't sell the best compared to others on the checklist.

EDIT: I forgot to add that my silver packs had all base (no Elly) and 1 color parallel....and that was a gold #/50 that had a crease right down the middle of the back.

That was my hobby case...

The "first card" gimmick is so much better than a stupid entire first edition.

For any that might be interested in more break results:

My 1 Hobby Case

1989 Black /199 Autograph Austin Wells
World Series Relics Gold /25 Corey Seager
1989 Chrome Gold Auto /50 Christopher Morel
1989 Black Relic /199 Joey Votto
1989 Auto Sal Frelick RC
1989 Auto Grae Kessinger RC
Baseball Stars Auto Prelander Berroa RC
Major League Materials Relics of Mookie Betts, Joe Ryan, and Mike Yastrzemski
1989 Relics of Christian Yelich, Josh Jung, and Rafael Devers

1989 Chrome Blue Ref Zack Gelof RC /150
Black Border /73 x2 Logan Webb and Phillies Team Card
Team Color SP Isaiah Campbell RC
Home Field Advantage x2 of Fernando Tatis Jr. and Julio Rodriguez
Vintage Stock /99 of Alexis Diaz and Cavan Biggio
Orange Foil x1
Green Foil x3
Gold Border x7

Of the Big 3 RC's
9 Evan Carter base
6 Jasson Dominguez base with 3 inserts
9 Elly base with 1 insert

Feels like I beat odds in a lot of ways with the extra hit and multiple parallels on the hits but still think it will be a scratch and claw process to approach breaking even. As much as I overall like the design this year, the extra black to the borders really showcases imperfections.

The only other years I've broken S1 cases were 2020 (Hobby) and 2023 (Jumbo) and this year's was quite a bit worse than those. Planning to break a 2024 S1 Jumbo case today. Really hoping to finally pull a Golden Mirror SP as I've missed out from over a case of jumbo last year and on my hobby case this year.
