I have absolutely, completely no idea if I should have tried to spend a first round pick or a last round pick on this guy, and it's entirely possible that I might run into a DL crunch and have to drop him partway into the season, but I wanted to lock him up and hope it works out. Have enough needs covered for the most part at this point where I think I can afford to potentially waste a pick. I think he'll be entirely worth waiting for in 2020. So....

Funny, I have him in my other dynasty league and was contemplating dropping him, as he would be taking an active spot on my 40 man roster for the whole year and I can’t drop him until our only draft at the end of May. You just helped me decide. He stays.

I don't know, I could very well end up dropping him in a few weeks. It's a lot to burn a DL slot on him all year long, particularly having a roster I think should be a contender in the playoffs. But I think he's still going to be very good even after TJ, and will do my very best to hold. We'll have to wait and see

Kopech, McCullers, and Manaea were all really interesting picks to me. In a vacuum, I would have absolutely loved to hold all 3 of them until next year. Of course, in reality that'd be super difficult to pull off while trying to stay competitive. Interested to see how it works out for the 3 of us that got these guys

Once I saw Kopech get off the board, figured it wouldn’t take much longer for Manaea and McCullers to go. In a dynasty league, I don’t think it would do too much damage to stash them on IR, but having all 3 probably would’ve made it rough at least for this year
