Was able to confirm 8 cases today. But was told allocations will most likely be issued on this.

In my opinion this isn't really a bad thing. It'll help keep the quality as high as possible.

8 cases is good, my local dealer only got allocated 3 cases and he has been doing business with topps since the 70s

He probably got them from multiple sources. That's what I did to get my 4.

It'll keep the resale value as high as possible. Not sure it will impact the quality.

Probably not framed, just thick stock.

Nah... Probably just sitting on some to sell at a higher price later. Either that or they don't know exactly how much they are getting allocated and don't want to over-sell.

I actually called a couple cards shops to confirm these are allocatted and they said they were direct with Topps and could only order a few cases.

Well several of the other normal card sites are not even doing preorders for these.. (as I have asked)-- due to being allocated...

God I hate Star Wars Collectors (and being one myself)

Asked around as well at a few online places. Got the same answer. Evan a couple of the big names weren't going to carry them. That, or they are waiting..

I assume like other Topps products that this is an 8 box case? At $200 a retail box that's still $1,600 per case. Or is my retail assumption a little over stated?

8 boxes yes. Blowout had cases at $1550 before taking them down.
