Just been reading some wild stats on Reece James (remember him?) and in his entire career, the longest run of games he's ever had without some sort of injury is six.
that's insane. |

A real shame. Going to go down as one of the biggest cases of unfulfilled potential due to injuries of the last decade.

Premier League clubs approve changes to APT rules.. sad tears for the state owned oil clubs.
Newcastle must be the unluckiest club in the world, the only team to get a state take over and will still be broke ![]() |

Javier Mascherano who has zero club management experience tipped to take over at Inter Miami.

He is close to Messi, though, right? Also, thought he had coached w/ Argentina.

Agree. Anybody who "coaches" Miami, though, is deferring to Messi. Might as well be someone whose advice he might consider.

It must be a dreadful dressing room tbh. The Miami players are probably just happy to be anywhere near him, but Messi is 100% bigger than the club and will be a problem, and Suarez is just as bad - he's actively trying to get Bielsa sacked from the Uruguay job.
I got the impression a few times that Gerardo Martino found 'messi mania' tiresome. Last edited by YayNJ; 11-22-2024 at 05:32 PM. |

Absolute scum.
Fifa rejects own committee's call to compensate Qatar workers In 2021, it was revealed that 6,500 migrant workers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka had died in Qatar since it won its bid to host the World Cup in 2010. During the event, organisers said the number of migrant workers who died on World Cup-related projects was "between 400 and 500". Fifa has published a long-awaited report it commissioned into the legacy of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, but has failed to implement its key recommendation. The governing body's sub-committee on human rights and social responsibility concluded that Fifa "has a responsibility" to contribute to compensation for workers harmed by the tournament's preparation and delivery. "There are workers who have contributed to the resounding success of the World Cup... who have not yet benefited from any, or any adequate remediation," it says. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football...s/cm2728j9r7zo |

I mean.. he's doing the absolute minimum expected at a club that's spent £1.3 billion on players in the last three years.

Ashworth out at Man United five months after starting there.....don't know whether it's the usual Man United idiocy due to being run by someone who knows virtually nothing about soccer (i.e. Jim Ratcliffe) or if Ashworth is just becoming really good at burning bridges.
I wonder if he'll ever get another job at a Premier League club..... |

Bottom line is he's come into a pressure cooker of a job with a team that has more players than he wants/needs and is managing said squad quite well. All while not having any real big club management experience. Took the C team over to Kazahkstan today and saw out the result quite well. Long way to go but after the clownshows of Potter and Poch it's a great start. |

The only positions you really chop and change is defence, outside of Colwill.. you've got what 7/8 concrete players when fit. Palmer, Caicedo, Fernandez, Colwill, Jackson, Sanchez, Cucurella etc Last edited by YayNJ; 12-12-2024 at 06:14 PM. |

This season, City, Man U, West Ham, and the Spurs would all like to discuss this statement further with you. ;-)
In all seriousness, of course the budget gets you the players, but without team chemistry and a manager getting players to buy-in, deep pockets only get you so far. Credit has to be given to Maresca for where they are at this point in the year. Especially considering the negativity being incessantly piled on the team that only in the past month or so has finally stopped. Yes, it was deserved in some cases but the media loves hyping a train wreck for views. Enzo making players earn their spot and not being scared to bench people not giving 110% has been huge. All of a sudden, there is cohesion and a bright future with how young the team is and key player contracts. Sancho is looking better by the week. Players are playing with emotion and it seems like each week a different player has been stepping up big; so Frosty is does not have to carry the entire team on his back. Honestly, it's looking like there might not be a better team setting themselves up for success the next 3-5 years in the PL. |

the list of footballers that haven't cheated on their partners would be as short as the list of league trophies Liverpool have won in the last 30 years.

So far this weekend, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, AC Milan, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have all failed to win.....I wonder when was the last time that happened (if ever)?
