Thanks for your kind words @finfangfan and @cmixer!

I've graded 150+ sketches with 0 10s - I'm pretty happy with the 9s I get. I try to sprinkle in a few non-sketches in each submission and they typically do very well compared to my pre-grades. I expect the grader lowers their condition standards since a lot of the sketches have visible whitening/dings.

I've had a handful of sketches rejected by PSA as well - they won't do blanks, sketches that don't have a visible signature, or just stuff that is too niche. I like your Maltese KaToPe!

I'm a big fan of Bellinger's work as well. I think I have 5 of his G6 project (chartrestarwars).

Sent this in knowing it would not get a 10 like my other, but very happy with a 9 thought it may even get an 8.

Don’t look now but I actually got a PSA 10 Dino sketch back today. Pretty hard to do!

Sean Phillips did a great series of Spider-man sketches for the MM2 (2008) set. Happy to get a PSA 9 back on this one today.

A friend of mine sent me the link to this on eBay. I always wondered who wound up with this card I did.

That’s great! It would be fun to see your own name on a PSA label. I’m just now realizing PSA will slab some oversized sketch stuff. I wonder if it stops at the two panel sketches? I have a couple Dino ones I could try to slab I guess.

I got a few more Dinosaurs sketch slabs back today… No PSA 10s. I don’t think Ohlendorf did too many for the set so nice to get one of his slabbed.

Got another PSA 10 dino sketch…

Also got another Pimental bird back (it’s a seagull which the artist noted on back of card but PSA didn’t list for some reason).

And slabbed this Finding Unicorn sketch that caught my eye.

I recently bought a dual panel UD Premier Sketch card and don't plan to sell in short. May end up in my collection, I am thinking if I should get it graded for having some protection? I know it won't be in a high grade for sure, at best a 7 or 8, should I still get it graded? Any suggestions?

Dino sketch slabs continue to roll in. I got two more PSA 10s back and a bunch of stuff came back lower…

And for some reason this Mary Bellamy sketch came back ungraded even though it is signed on back…

In the Dinosaurs set, there were separate templates made for each dinosaur “character”. Occasionally, an artist would draw the wrong dinosaur. For this one, I like the way PSA identified both the dinosaur listed on the card and the incorrect dinosaur drawn in parenthesis on the label.

I got the rest of my Pimental birds back today. These look great slabbed. I just wish they put the bird name on label.

This one finally came back today. I received an email a few weeks ago that it was damaged in the submission process. They refunded me both the slab fee as well as my cost for the card (the raw card was purchased by me on COMC prior to sending off for slabbing). A bit of a bummer when you slab a card and it gets damaged in the process. But happy they made me whole. I’ve had other scenarios where the refund did not match my value for the card.

I got a ton of slabs back this week. Here are some of the Dinos…

I really like this Pennington Triceratops action sketch and was happy to see it nab a PSA 10…

I also received this PSA 10 of a Tim Fagaly Sabretooth sketch from the achievement subset that Upper Deck added to ePack during COVID (ie a few years after the set initially dropped). The card stock on these is thinner than the normal set sketches.

And here are some others that came back this week…

Several more Dino sketch slabs came back today including a pair of PSA 10s. My goal with this project is to slab all dinosaurs on the checklist. Which is doable. I also want to slab at least one of every artist I can, but PSA doesn’t slab artists that didn’t sign their cards. So that won’t be doable.

The minimum wage idiots grading these have no idea what they are grading, much the less what the names of these beautiful birds are.
Their only instruction these days is to assign little, if any, 10’s to any cards outside of fanatics large volume breakers and influencers.
All of the cards you have posted are absolutely beautiful. They have no idea how to grade these, and they honestly don’t care.
Again, gorgeous cards and congrats on your collection

I was curious as to what grade PSA would give this one. It came back today PSA 3. They might not have liked all the markings KaToPe made to the back of the card.

Still looks great slabbed though!

Got some more Dinosaurs sketch slabs back today… no PSA 10s, unfortunately.

And I think this X-23 looks cool in the PSA slab even though it got a low grade…

Thanks… and it’s good to hear from you as I remember you also being big into this set. I’m basically slabbing my whole Dino sketch collection. I started with CGC for the first couple dozen but then once COMC brought back PSA subs to their website, I quickly switched to 100% PSA. I love how they list artist and Dino name on slab.

My only gripe is that PSA doesn’t slab unsigned sketch cards so there is a couple artists that either flat out don’t sign or their sig blends in too much with the front art that the grader accidentally overlooks it (like Luro Hersal).

When all is said and done I will at least have one slab of every Dino in the set. It would also be cool to get one slab of every artist but that looks like it won’t happen.

Only one Dinosaurs sketch slab back today. I think this is my first PSA half grade for a Dino sketch.
