For a 200 card set this feels pretty underwhelming as far as big names. Jeanty and Williams are the main chase I guess. QB list seems very weak.

I think they do have a fairly solid list, but I think this does fall shorts of previous years. The exclusive autograph war is hurting products and the magic of the first few years is going to be hard to replicate.

In the first few releases of Bowman U, there were so many '1st' cards of top players (not necessarily freshman). Now that this is an annual product, I think we are going to fall a little more into the "rookie (i.e. 1st)" card chase. Look at Topps F1 Cards (Not exactly the same but a similar situation of an untapped market)

That's 13 quarterbacks from the AP top 25. Missing the two Texas QBs who have exclusives, Milroe for unknown reasons and Sheduer who probably wanted more money than they offered. Without having foresight, I think the list is not too bad. Just that most on the list already have firsts.

Actually, this checklist is awful. Most of the guys are already in unlicensed products and I believe we're heading/are already in a period where we will see unlicensed cards comp better than ever with licensed stuff. Can't believe there's no Shedeur Sanders or Jeremiah Smith. With the price up 30% this year compared to last year (they were $100, right?), you expect more -- not fewer -- stars in the product. Looks like Fanatics simply never anticipated that some of these kids would turn down their money. It's not my fault that Fanatics bought the top of the market and now needs to generate money quickly, and I won't be squeezed so that a billionaire can recoup some of his poor investment.

We're in such an auto bubble right now too that I'm probably going to grab only one case and retreat. The Marvin Harrison Jr/Fanatics lawsuit has opened my eyes to just how many of these autos are floating around. Assuming the MHJ contract is standard, we're looking at 50k autos per star for Fanatics alone when they pick up the company option for more autos. This is going to end badly for so many people, Fanatics included.

Indeed, maybe he would have gotten a cooler player image but I doubt people would prefer a 24 BUC vs a 23 BUC. Heck, people preferred the not fully licensed 21-22 BU to 22 BUC when it came to a player's Bowman 1st.

I do miss having the potential for Ewers/Manning though. Exclusives stink.

This guy gets it. BUC is BUC. Even past the pandemic bubble and the backlog of first time Bowmaners at some point the checklist was going to normalize and not have 1.5x or 2x worth of draft classes in one product.

Topps was even kind enough to get a full checklist out before people had to put down money for a product. Something poopnini failed to do for Score. Just like pizza and other physical activities, perceived "bad" BUC is still BUC.
