Default Then I gambled...

Bought 8 copies of the Batman/Spawn one shot and got 2 variants.
Brett Booth 1:54 and MacFarlane "Inked" variant 1:269.
What does "Inked" indicate? Newbie here

Thanks, thought it might be that. Happy to get any MacFarlane variant.

Decided to order a copy of Batman/Spawn since it was the last day. Jim Lee variant! Anyone have a preview of what it looks like?

I try Googling the issue and seeing what might be out there. There are a lot of basic variants out there for this issue. I just couldn’t figure if any are the numbered variants.

Default Researching my options for selling and shipping my extras…

Not sure yet what I might do because shipping is tricky with $5-$10 comics. The first class postage might allow 2-3 issues in a hard Kraft envelope with an extra piece of cardboard. Once you get past 3 issues or so, it becomes priority mail and somewhat costly for a 3 issue order.
I’m not used to doing media mail. Any thoughts on how that might be cheaper. I think you can consider a comic in that category.

My next thoughts go to COMC, the only company that ships for you. I believe it costs $4 to send in a raw comic but that’s pretty much what it would cost me to send it myself. I’m leaning toward them right now. Let them bother with shipping.

Thanks,
Vinny

COMC 16 week submissions: 50 cents each and
Add $0.50 for third-party graded cards and cards encased with a manufacturer seal.
Add $3 for oversized cards larger than 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" (modern size), 2 5/8" x 3 3/4" (vintage size), coins, and comic books.

Every once in awhile you luck out and an “image not available” cover ends up being a gem. While still not showing on CF, I’m very happy with the image of the 1:25 Sabretooth and the Exiles cover I pulled (as found on Golden Apple)… can’t wait!

I think it's still too new and not enough has been scanned yet. I know I've bought over 100 different books and only 4 are available to be sent home, so people are likely waiting for bulk home shipping.

If it's anything like ePack in trading cards, people are much more likely to start Facebook groups and sell there. It's much easier to sell and transfer to a new account than dealing with actual postage. I also know quite a few people have bought comics in hopes of trading them for cards... Good luck to them.

But yeah, I expect it'll be quite a long time before these show up on eBay specifically.

Went to pick up one Momoko cover for this Doctor Strange book and ended up getting the 1:50 David Mack cover instead.

I checked out the image on Golden Apple and I lucked into a great one!

I've checked a few different websites, no luck so far. I hope it's full color.

My big question is "Will they catch on as soft slabbed uncirculated issues?" It may take some time but I would and will advertise them as that.
Also, a lot of us will be dumping the regular issues as we gamble to get the variants. That's why I'm working to make runs of the ones I can, say issue 1-6 of a top character.
Vinny
PS: I may cut some open and grade them

Looks like a bunch more scans popping up slowly (still not tradable but they show in your account)… some more Spidey 1 covers and Spider-verse 5 are notable.

After 61 Mile Morales purchases I finally hit the one I wanted. Beat the odds I guess. Still haven’t hit the 1:106 variant but I’m ok with it.

One of the online comic companies has it raw for $189.99. Anything close to that and my uncirculated one may payoff a chunk of the regular issues I buy hunting variants.

You never really know but raw presales for the Maleev (1:25) and Dodson (1:50) variants of Timeless #1 seem decent at $65 and $125 generally. Gives me hope as I continue to hunt the variants.
Vinny
PS: seemed to me that Timeless will be around with the Disney+ shows like Loki, Moon Knight, and all the Kang stories to come #IMHO

Quite a few new scans… some Star Wars stuff, more Spidey 1s, etc.

I like this cover…
