That is what the clerk told me today that the USPS sensors on the sorters read that long barcode and do lots of things with it this is likely one of them.

I have the same question. I'd really like to use Coin Envelope #7 (3 1/2" x 6 1/2") or something similar but not sure if these will get rejected or not.

Just checked the eBay link tracking on the one I sent out yesterday.....it has updated and shows "In Transit". So, while the clerk was not able to scan in the tracking code, it appears that the code is read as it goes thru the sorting machine, so it is being tracked.....all is good and it appears the system works.

I haven't done a label yet. Will it print that small? Edit: I guess so, if their guidelines say it...

I haven't seen a label yet... but when printing, you should be able to reduce the scale%, right?

You can, but I wonder if there is an optimum size for the reader to grab he tracking code. Perhaps if the label is shrunk too small it wont read?

Is ebay enforcing the 4 card limit? I sold a lot of 6 cards (under $10) and I still saw the option to ship it using this new method. I just went with stamps, but would have liked to have tracking if possible.

Just packed and shipped my first envelope. I sold a $15 card and am sending it in a standard plain white envelope. I'll probably buy some heavier stock envelopes because taping the shipping label to the PWE made me wonder if I was not obeying their "no plastic or plastic-covered envelopes" requirement, but we'll see.

Really awesome program here for eBay / USPS. Hope it works out as well as it seems like it will.

Earlier info about the tracking/scanning mechanism makes me wonder if they will not accept "non-machinable" or at least it won't work, and that's the driver behind all their requirements.

In general if you've been sending toploaders or Card Savers or whatever in PWE it should work the same because the same machines are processing.

The risk on the card limit I guess is a buyer could complain and turn you in for some kind of shipping refund or something... scammers will find a way.

Ebay will not be the ones enforcing it, it will work like USPS packages where you undercharge shipping they will bill you later for it through your monthly Ebay invoice if the USPS decides it is 2 thick or whatever. I would never send more than 3 cards via PWE no matter what but maybe that isjust me.

It says up to 15 on eBay; just make sure the envelope is less than 0.25in. I have a few with 6 cards that printed fine, can keep you posted on transit if you'd like

The other announcements said up to 4 cards or 2 toploaders so this is contradicting itself.

I dont think Ebay fully understands the trading cards business. "Ship up to 15 raw cards, or 2 cards in top loaders." I cant imagine putting 15 cards in a PWE and expecting it not to get damaged in the sorting machine.

That was an old announcement. The current details show 15 cards. Essentially, the numerical value is meaningless because in the end the only thing that matters is weight and thickness. If 20 cards comes in less than 1/4" and under 3 oz. it'll be fine.

I will NEVER send more than 3 cards via PWE anyone who does in my opinion is begging for issues.

Me either. That ould make the envelope very rigid and create a nice lip to snag on.

Thanks for the response. When I put 4 cards in a team bag and sandwich them between 2 top loaders, there is legitimately no difference in thickness vs 6 cards in the same scenario... so I might push it.

That's a personal choice and nothing wrong with that. Some people NEVER send any cards in a PWE.

There are going to be a lot of jammed sorting machines as people start figuring out what they can and cannot ship like this.

IME, most you can safely and securely fit that will go through the sorters is 12- 2 140pt toploaders with them inside
