Cool good luck! I am the same and got 1 for now as well. I’ll buy singles on eBay I’m sure instead of a 2nd case.

Yes

Still do, even with issues from year to year, still an affordable, different, and fun break. Started with my kids back in 2007, and now they are 24 and 21, and still ask every year when its time for Ginter break for the year. We have made it an annual tradition. Friday Night after release they clear their calendars to make sure they come home for the night to break. Even if design has not changed much through the years (see scan), sets still look great when put together. I have a master set from each.

My favorites are usually the ones without borders (added an example of each of the 13 years side by side). 2006 and 2016 are simple and like the best (2007, 2008 pretty identical to 2006 design). Do also like the design touches to 2012, 2013, & 2015.

Appreciate the effort of trying to change things up some years, but 2011 was by far the ugliest IMO, and didn't like the 2017 oval frames.

Am excited for 2019 though, back to no border and the added backgrounds I think are going to be a cool addition.

i will say, even though they are inserts, the mini rookies seem to be underappreciated, especially the base. i understand that the 80324632 parallels only hurt

Im not a huge fan of Ginter, but I will load up on ginter x. Not having to deal with distributor markups is nice, just have to be ready when it releases

Always fun.
He's not taking a stand lol. He's going on a cruise. Big difference. He would absolutely rip Ginter if he was in town.

He directly referenced the wood mini debacle in his tweet. I can’t speak for him, but I’d assume that made him more indifferent to scheduling a trip during a big release.

Remember that the Bryany (Dual ear flaps on helmet and him leading off a base) were "bonus" hits?

I can't be the only one angry because I bought ginter last year hoping to pull a 1/1
and I had no shot.

I can't be the only one angry because topps hid under the bed after they knew this
was a problem and offered no solution.

I can't be the only one angry after topps lied and said they were out there somewhere, they are sure of it.

Where do we draw the line between...fun spending 90 dollars a box and not expecting anything and spending 90 dollars and having no shot at pulling certain money cards?

If topps left out the Trout autographs this year would people get mad? What if they left out Trout all together? Would that make you mad?

I don't get this whole, "oh its just a fun product" chill out thing? Who has money growing on trees that topps promises on what is in the products don't matter?

You don't think topps knows this? You don't think they are here reading this? You don't think they are back at board meetings going......we can leave that out, no one will miss it.

How many lies before you stop buying? 1? 10? 350?

Topps did not "hide under the bed" or lie about it. They responded directly to the question when asked. Did it ever occur to you that Topps honestly doesn't know what happened? They don't print and pack their own cards. I'm sure they asked the printer what happened to the cards, and I'm sure the printer told them "they should be in the packs". Anything beyond that is a private B2B conversation. Topps wouldn't come out and say "we punished the printer" or "we complained until someone got fired" etc. No doubt there were conversations about this behind closed doors and if the printer is claiming they packed the cards and Topps can't prove they didn't, then what's the next step?

Secondly, there is no reasonable solution to a card that falls 1:10 cases. Topps could have reprinted the cards and used a lottery system to distribute, but then how would they prove who all the buyers are that should be in the lottery? It's easy to complain when you yourself aren't the one having to come up with a solution.

And again, this is one issue with one product. And yes, we've seen issues before but guess what, that's part of the manufacturing process. Nobody who runs a large corporation reliant on 3rd party packers and printers is going to have a flawless operation. Topps has done what they've been able to do in the past to help with errors including product replacements and wrapper redemptions but this is a tough one for them knowing how rare the cards are, and that they legitimately haven't located them.

I've made a lot of money on Topps the last 3 years. I can forgive a packout error for a card that falls 1:10 cases knowing that the rest of the products were fine and produced a great ROI. That's the cost of doing business.

Seriously. That was my point going all the way back to last year when none were showing up. This is basically a superfractor, and people wanted refunds since they didn't get one in their box.

Exactly. Even Brent who did like 30 cases would have pulled 3 of them if collation was correct, and more than 75% of the checklist wouldn't even bring in $100. I've pulled wood minis before and they were hardly the difference between a good break and a bad break. Anyone who thinks Brent is going on vacation because 1% of his revenue stream on this one product was hurt by this error is not living in reality.

I also love ripping Heritage, but this year Heritage had even a bigger screwup IMO than the Ginter woods. Cases with ZERO High #SPs, and most/all of the stars were SP. This is huge and left more $$$ on the table than missing the woods, not that I am excusing that one, but just in comparison. Topps did replace all my missing SPs from the case, but it was a hassle. You wonder why 2019 Heritage Hobby box prices are dropping so fast, besides the lack of super rookies, no one is going to buy a hobby box/case taking the chance that you have no SPs. But I don't think anyone is going to start a boycott Heritage thread.
Now back to looking forward to the 2019 checklist

I open much more than 1 box, but that isn't even the point here. These cards represent thousands of dollars of sales that were not in the product. That angers no one?

...and I don't remember topps ever making a statement on any social media platform. They only had to answer after I copied the president of topps on an email I sent to the VP.
