That's exactly why I was saying if his place still had Mahomes +200 it was an absolute no brainier bet because everyone else had much worse odds

IMO there are several reasons his prices are still climbing - obviously his play, age and potential for future greatness......but also because KC fans have been DREAMING for a home grown QB to do anything....literally anything.

KC fans watched Deshaun Watson tear it up last year and I can almost guarantee any die hard fan was questioning why KC traded up to get Mahomes and passed on Watson - hindsight is obviously 20/20 now.....but still those thoughts were there.

Brees cards were highly manipulated bc the ownership pool of Psa 10’s was tiny. Without checking pop reports I can tell you there are more mahomes than there are brees. Not and apples to apples comparison.

If Brees had on on-card /99 auto similar to an Optic Holo, what do you think that would go for? Not being testy by any means, just trying to get some perspective.

Also FWIW Brees Contenders in PSA 9 go for quite a hefty price too, not just reserved for gems.

Grading wasn't as popular when Brees contenders came out. Most cards from that time aren't in very good condition compared to now. Not a great example IMO.

Sure but the last minute price action on some cards were not that great. Some cards right now have low bids so far. Hey any dip is a good buying opportunity for this guy. He's the guy to take over when Brady, Brees, Rodgers and Ben retire.

Why? The guy tore an ACL and only lost half his value. I'd feel much worse for people that purchased Carr at peak value because of the gigantic loss or someone like Bortles where there is little chance of any recovery. Jimmy should return to a more talented team next year and if he turns the Niners into a winner his prices will exceed previous highs. Granted that may not happen, but there are definitely worse QBs to have bought at the high point.

I probably should have sold in the offseason as I originally intended, but I thought (and still think) there's still room for growth with that SF market. Thankfully I don't have any $ into the large amount I have remaining, so the gamble was only on the size of the profits and not an actual loss.

Depends on how the playoffs go. These prices could look like bargains right now if a SB run happens.
