I hope Trout doesn’t end his career with a post season of 3 games and 3 losses while being near invisible, negative WPA.

Dale Murphy - Great 2 time MVP but has zero success in the Post Season, 3 games, 3 losses and yes it’s a measurement of greatness. Like it or not, it matters.

Trout looks so uninspired it’s a tough watch. What are the Angels 10-40 in their last 50 games? It’s so ugly one has to wonder if he will pull a Barry Sanders. Not at this time in his career but at 34 if nothing changes. That would be a complete waste.
Does lack of postseason success take away from Ted Williams? Or Tony Gwynn? Or Griffey Jr? Or Ichiro? Or Ernie Banks?

I understand this may not be the right spot for this, but I decided to have my buddy run all of my big Trout cards in auction. I was thinking about just taking them to the National but I went this route instead. For anyone interested to either buy or just watch, here is the link for the auctions:

No it does not, just like Biggio and Bagwell playing the playoffs and 2005 WS doesn’t make them better than anyone else who hasn’t yet aren’t in the HOF.
If postseason greatness determine greatness in the hobby then Bernie Williams cards would be worth something.

Yeah, very surprising move for sure.

I would have waited until somewhere bw tax refunds and spring training.

Or at least Christmastime.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Asking for a friend.

A little late since it's already days into the auctions but it wasn't the best time to sell the cards. If those 200+ cards are all yours. You probably won't be slaughtered because a good portion of them aren't too rare or go for much (in my book) so they didn't really have much to drop. Unless you just really needed the money waiting until Christmas time would have helped in your case. Your big money cards are the Updates which will probably get you around 2k total for the two. Is that Lebron sparkle yours too?

Trout could still get back in time to hit 38-40 HR this season, also would be good if he could climb back up to .280+ batting avg. - would be enough to stop the sky from falling and for some optimism going forward.

I think it's more that the hobby in general is cooling, he's hitting the IL again, though it's not that serious, he has a lot of injuries of late and the Angels are just absolutely pathetic, so it's not like there's any anticipation of something novel from him. Just another really good season on a dreary team.

He has lost some shine towards his hobby love. That can't be argued.

Maybe he can start buying his own cards to keep them from falling further.

The only people that don't think he's nice are the trolls on here that never met him.
