Good on the Bunks for squaring up the season series.

I thought Khris Middleton did his best to match their performances.

'06 me could have finished that layup that Giannis chucked downcourt instead of being stopped by Trae, and I really believe that.

Don't underestimate Good Hair's improved defensive prowess.

I think a 7 game series between these two could be interesting. Bucks still suffer from extended defensive lapses and Hawnks are a bit too inexperienced. Should at least be entertaining.

Word. Brooks needs a serious chin checking. Approaching Dray levels of unlikability.

Nice effort by Houston, but this highlights my concerns about them. They lack a dependable 1a scorer that all the contenders have (some have multiple). The guy that you know can will the team when the game's within reach. That's not Shingoon's game.

I think Houston had high hopes Green would fill that role, but his defensive liability and lack of shooting consistency makes those aspirations look bleak.

They just need one more big piece.

Yeah it's going to be difficult to make any moves this season with the terms of Jalen's contract

That said, it becomes much easier during the offseason and FVV has a team option on his contract after this year so I can't really see the team keeping him if he keeps this up

I'd like to see Amen replace Jalen in the lineup before the end of the season but I worry it may shatter what's left of Jalen's fragile psyche, he doesn't seem like the kind of dude that would take a benching well

Not sure what's going on with Freddy. Maybe the law of averages will eventually catch up, but he's been downright dismal shooting. I liked the idea of picking him up to leverage his seniority and championship experience, but that's not going to mean much if he can't pick it up.

Ime needs to bench Green asap. He's really terrible, and doesn't do anything outside of shoot (often ill-advised shots). He lacks basketball iq. The whole concept of drafting him was that his crazy athleticism was going to mask those concerns as he developed early on. But the league is having zero issues figuring out his one dimensional game.

The only conceivable reason I can think of why that move hasn't happened yet is because ya'll rank near the bottom 3rd of the league in perimeter shooting, and Amen still has a ton of work to do in that department. I actually hate that floor spacing has become such a central emphasis in the NBA, where most players just camp the 3 point line for majority of the shot clock waiting for plays to develop.

I actually think ya'll have enough surrounding defense that a play at Ingram could make sense as a 3 level scorer to anchor the offense. Butler would be ideal, but he's going to have a ton of suitors.

Kyrie's got a player option as well - who'd be a marked improvement over FVV, though age may start becoming a factor.

LeDiddy back and Lakers win. Big for the culture which is down bad-bad these past few weeks.

[Marks] If the New Orleans Pelicans decide to trade Zion Williamson, they could expect to acquire “expiring contracts and perhaps a future first-round pick.” New Orleans can outright release Williamson this summer with no financial obligation.

Spurs have potentially 4 1sts next draft - Atl one is the one without protections though, unless they trade their own 1st rounder. Both FOs should just do it for the culture.

Isn’t it crazy (thinking back to how hyped he was) that this offer might be too much for Zion at this point?

It feels like his career is pretty close to being over

Eh his contract situation gets really interesting after this year. There's enough protection there that a team wanting to make a leap [like the Spurs probably do] would make for an interesting landing spot. I think Z would also benefit from a team with a strong culture + FO [SA fits that] and a young star where Z doesn't have to shoulder the hopes of a fanbase.

It's essentially a $40 million/yr deal for through 2027-28 with team options every year. His contract is non-guaranteed on a year-by-year basis after this season and even this season he can be cut with half his salary guaranteed.

I did not know about those protections..

I just don’t know. A non shooter next to Wemby just mucks up the offense. Spurs are a couple wing shooters and a true PG away from being a contender imo. I just don’t see how Zion would fit

One final pump from the Zion bag holders is how he'd fit.

I was thinking about Melo to San Antonio

Might be pretty cool, plus the alien theme goes very well with that giant back tattoo he got

The Spurs fit is an interesting thing to think about in terms of PG because you need a guy who’s not super ball dominant but can play on both ends and run the offense + shoot.

Theoretically, Castle fits that but I’m not sure if he’s a good enough play maker and he’s so far, horribly inefficient.

San Antonio is one of a handful of cities that are potentially worse than NO for Zion.

(What I'm trying to say is... the food is really good in San Antonio)

He has some rough looking numbers shooting wise, but he already has a lot of the intangibles and has shown he has great vision making passes. Also a rock on defense and has shown he can get to the rim and finish (and draw contact/fouls). But he definitely needs to improve his jumper, as shooting high 30's overall and mid-high 20's from 3 isn't gonna cut it.

I think he can eventually develop into a true PG but doubt he'll ever been a guy that can hit ~40% from 3. But if he can get it to at least 35% or so he should be fine.

Melo is an absolute moron.

He is an incredible player but hearing him talk he sounds like a 13 year old playing Fortnite. I didn't think we'd see anyone dumber than Ant Edwards but here we are.

Now Zion to the Spurs? Now that probably works fine. Not sure he's a Spurs guy though. If he can just get in shape I think Zion will be great still. Big if though.

Pels are working through some stuff. But at least they are taking it seriously. Their attitude stayed on point during the drubbing they took from Indy last night.

Meanwhile the Mavs are starting to look good. They were winning without Luka.

Now he's back to himself they're rolling.

.5 back from the 2 seed.

Surely it's another OKC vs Dallas series but this time in the West Finals to decide who faces Boston?

If Boston and Cavs get 1-2 seeds they’re gonna play each other in the ECF.

Isn't that pretty clear?

I'm not too sure what your point is.
