Almost picked two of these megas up but feel like I made the right decision in leaving them there.

I grabbed the two off my Walmarts shelf this morning.

1 Gold Relic #/99, 3 Refractors, 4 Chromes.....not too bad to be honest for $40....12 SP's combined.....so probably a couple bucks down...but nothing to crazy, good value from what I am seeing.

Picked up some of the megaboxes. Pulled an Ohtani Clubhouse Collection relic but the card number is ECCR-SO and the picture looks different than the regular CCR-SO i've seen on ebay (bat is on his right shoulder). Anyone know what the "E" stands for??

Might stand for "Exclusive" since these are the spring box exclusive cards.

Yes, these megas are good value with the SPs, cloth stickers, and the exclusive chrome cards. And appears to be some good content as well in the packs. I made back my money and still have some cards to sell from my lone box I purchased. Have another one coming in the mail on Tuesday.

Are you guys noticing that the chrome/refractor parallels are bending? I just looked at a few that I had opened a few weeks ago, and they look like those old Topps Chrome cards from a number of years ago, the way they have bent so quickly.

Yep, it’s well known across the chromes this year. Strong enough to bend a toploader.

Picked up 5 mega boxes and did pretty well. 2 black refractors in the chrome packs, all the big names in the SP and cloth inserts. Plus I got this auto

I am looking to purchase or trade for any chrome /999 or refractors /570 from the megaboxes. Trying to put a set together. PM me for details.

Yikes. Thanks for the info. Not sure how this is happening in 2019, when the recent prior years have had no issues.

Like a lot of people, I think the 1970 super box toppers are pretty nice, but their unusual dimensions (3-1/8" x 5-1/4") don't easily fit in any normal toploader that I know of. Also, judging by the way that sellers mailed them to me, it doesn't seem like other people had an obvious way to store them, either, so I wanted to share what I eventually did that I'm pretty happy with.

My first strategy was to buy Ultra Pro 4" x 6" postcard toploaders, along with 3-11/16" x 5-3/4" Ultra Pro "penny" postcard sleeves. This worked, but the "4 x 6" dimensions turned out to be the internal size (makes sense in retrospect), which meant that they were too large to store in a typical card box, even lying on their sides. I wasn't happy with that, so I went back to the drawing board.

I eventually found some 3-1/2" X 7-1/4" "ticket" toploaders (also Ultra Pro), and I figured I would try them out and cut down the length dimension if it seemed like a good fit otherwise. I also debated what to do with the soft sleeves, because they were going to be slightly too wide for these toploaders. I figured I could either cut off a bit of their width (weird because it would make them open on two sides), forgo them entirely (maybe worse protection?), or just fold the side over a little and see how it worked. I ended up picking the latter option, at least for now, and I think it's a fine compromise.

The cards fit well, so I used a paper cutter to cleanly cut down the length of the toploaders to 6", and I think the net effect is the best I've seen for these cards so far. If you have a different and/or better approach, I'd love to know! Thanks.

That supers set looks good, just wished they used a different picture of Kaline. That pic looks like it’s from the 50’s.

These kids are dope. Good chemistry, and seem to really enjoy cards for what they are.
