It was happening all game yesterday with bama refs ignoring all of their infractions. bama is one of the most penalized and UGA is one of the least. 1 penalty for 5 yards for bama yesterday? Riiiiight

I don't have a problem conceptually with Miami being in over ND based on H2H but I'd like to know how you have Team A ranked over Team B every week for 5 consecutive weeks and then flip them in week 6 after neither one played?

For all the discussion these silly rankings create - and I openly admit I am part of the discussion (hell I do a weekly summary of AP all season long) - it seems that going forward there's really no reason to pay attention to any of these until the final one.

Blame the ACC for crapping itself this year and the PAC-12 for dismantling. Those two don't happen Tulane and James Madison never sniff it.

What tweaks are needed for next year's CFP?

1) Minimum ranking to get in to keep teams like Tulane and JMU from crashing the party?
2) Expand the field to 16?
3) Reduce the number of automatic bids for conf champs from five to four?

no more expansion don't need the CFP even more watered down.

I don't see any need for tweaks. I know the G5 sucks but I still think the G5 needs a path to the playoffs in the interest of fairness.

On the 20th .. that Miami /a&m game is going to be great ..but would rather easily want that Notre dame at ole miss and Texas at Oregon to make it a perfect day

Ok let's go with that fairness angle. Make the G5 teams play more P4 teams so that the regular season schedules are more comparable.

Too add extra flavor, I scanned over the American conference results against P4 teams. The American teams went 6-12. I looked over the Sun Belt teams, and they went 1-17 against P4 schools (with all losses but one being by double digits).

Tulane or JMU wouldn't sniff the playoffs if they played a P4 schedule. They might have a winning record at something like 7-5 or 8-4, but neither one would be anywhere in the discussion as an at-large.

I like having David in as well, but 1 is enough with current 12 team draw. If it expands, and I hope not, perhaps 2 is fine.
I would like to see a cap on the amount of teams a conf can get in (no more than 4 but even that pushes it IMO).
Too much $ involved and too many arguments one way or the other. What the heck do I know, not much.
At least today I’m happy the Canes are in and I get at least one more game to watch Bain, Mesidor and Beck. And do not have to watch a meaningless bowl game started by Williams and the prospects who are likely to transfer & portal out in a few weeks.
