Statement from Ja Morant:
"I take full responsibility for my actions last night. I'm sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I'm going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with
stress and my overall well-being."

I’ll believe it when I see it. But I hope he’s serious.

Philosophical education for all human beings can't come soon enough. (elementary school age kids can handle the subject matter)

I prefer a more honest and direct statement like,

"Sorry, I have a 10 cent brain. It's no wonder that I act like an idiot."

That's the crappiest part about this whole thing. I can see him blowing millions if he's a legit tough guy that doesn't know any other way but c'mon, he's acting.

Bro you be trying too hard sometimes no way that cat has anything to do with ja Morants upbringing .. that dude is from the hood in Memphis ..do you know where he was born and the population. ? There are no gangs in towns with less than 10k people and if there are it’s laughable

It’s possible he looked up to the bs and when he got around it got influenced

But being brought up into it

Stop

As a vetted spokesman for the now defunct 2019 draft class, just helping clecters make informed decisions.

There are no gangs in towns of less than 10k? I'll be sure to let everybody here know the 5 teens gunned down in 2 separate shootings days apart and the mulitple retaliation shootings since werent gang related since its not possible for us to have a real gang problem here. The 40+ bullets fired into a house Wednesday night from a car must have been somebody just taking target practice.

This is where I am right now. I own exactly 3 Ja cards and have no intention on selling regardless of value. I think he is talented and enjoy when I am able to watch him play. I hope he works through this and can focus more on his game.

I still own more fatboi and ja bass than I'd like to divulge.

He's still plenty young enough that he can right the ship. Unfortunately it appears he's quite feeble minded and easily impressionable by street clout and yes men with high follower counts..

IMO things won't get better until he clears out his camp. You're typically a reflection of the 5 closest people to you. Starting with his dad who seems to be reliving his youth vicariously through Ja as more of a homeboy vs. actual father ...it's not a good situation.

I agree 100%!! And unfortunately, there's not a "leader" in that locker room that might be able to teach him any better.

Adams seems to be a really quiet dude that kind of stays to himself. He’s an enforcer on the court, but he’s not a vocal kind of guy.

Also difficult when your entire squad has now garnered the reputation of being a modern day version of the Bad Boys (minus the hardware).

This is such an egregious example of flawed character that teammate intervention may not have mattered much. Kind of like AB, Iron Mike, Aaron Hernandez and the likes. I'm sure there've been people in Ja's ears, but when you actually go out of your way to livestream the Saturday Night Special in the wake of 2 previous weapons cases, then there's a severe mental disconnect.

Only so much you can do with a grown ass man living his life til the wee hours of the morning, short of being a parole officer monitoring an ankle bracelet.

The true conundrum arises when Ja pencils his ballot in the 2024 election.
