I think the ultra low pop stuff will do all-time highs, sell easy. Everything else.... I'd expect some deals to be had, everyone selling the same card at the same time.

Where does the kobe stardate 1996 land? It's arguably his best looking rookie year card, albeit an insert. The run up was ridiculous for a card that isn't rare, but it is gorgeous. Now that the prices have become "reasonable" is this card a buy? Or will it continue to drop? Seems like it's sorta leveled out here.

If you can find a nice high grade psa/bgs 9 or better I would pull the trigger. My main sticking point is avoid one with the refractor line.

This whole thread and ebay searching lately has made me realize how completely Pathetic inserts were from 2000-1010. it was like a whole decade wasted... some of the dumbest designs and everything was either auto/mem/parallel...

you wouldnt think Arena Design would be the ONLY people who could create great looking inserts but apparently they were.

It’s true, but I love it for the simple fact it makes it that much easier to zone in on the best designs. 93-94 through 00-01 will keep me busy for a lifetime.

The only exception to that range for me is stuff like 03 and later Exquisite/UD Black. Those are the only auto and patch designs I ever felt fused with the card to the point it wasn’t just memorabilia for the sake of memorabilia.

Take a look at the back edges...this must a low grade card in a high grade case?

Man, hopefully that was not tampered, unlikely but makes you wonder.

I know that PSA 10 does not mean there are no flaws on the card. But, this flaw...all the way around the back is worrisome.

Like you said, I'm hoping the case is not tampered, but wow...sweet card...then you turn it over...

I sent a Planet Metal to PSA a couple of months ago and it looks way better than that. I hope mine scores a 10

The slab looks old. Maybe a rough conditioned one slipped through when they were less strict on 10s?

But even if they were less strict...this is a 6 or 7 in any year...2021 or 1997!

I think older PSA were more lenient back then. iirc, I think regularp shared a link from Goldin and it was a 96 Kobe Finest Refractor RC (old slab) and it had a very noticeable refractor line which got a 10.

another high dollar kobe psa 10 was a 96 ex2000 also on an older slab and people in this thread were arguing that their copies looks better if not similar to that.

Well, I'm glad they are stricter now. If I won that and didn't look at the back before bidding, I would seriously think about a return (hate doing returns, but also hate "flawed" cards in my PSA 10 collection!).

i hear you, older psa 10’s=new psa 10’s to me tbh. im not a grade fanatic but the value a psa 10 carries trumps almost every eye appeal for these low pop, blue important cards. but this particular planet metal is an eye sore that much is true. it was meant to be shared for the gram

my 02 cents.
