6) When eating:

Itadakimasu [thank you for this food]. /
Go chisou sama (deshita) [thank you for the delicious meal]. /
Oishii (desu ne)! [yummy! (, isn't it?)]

7) Looking for a place/thing:

<place>, doko desu ka? [where is (place)]?

Yeah man, I completely understand. I'll be going with my wife and kid as well. Fortunately, my mother, father, sister and brother-in-law will also be going so we'll have some extra support (aka I might have a chance to hit up a local card shop haha).

While I agree you should learn some of the language (as I did) it is not necessary

I met a Romanian YouTuber named Marcu on the way to the Aokigahara Forest that did not speak a lick of Japanese who got around just fine (all the guy does is travel, mostly to countries he does not speak ANY of the language)

We ended up hanging out and my brother and I were featured in his Suicide Forest video

Thank you all for the replies. I'm going to try learning some basic Japanese over the next few months during my commute to work.

I work in asset management and will be working for 7 days and off 7 days. I'm also a photographer (Fine art landscape) and I'm bringing one of my camera bags and would appreciate any travel tips to locate some beautiful scenery for those 7 days off.

I don't think COMC notifies users when grading submitted through them is complete, but I had a nice surprise today looking at the "grading submission" section on their website.
Of the 16 graded in PSA POP report, 8 of them are 10s, other 8 are 9s or below, so I think I did well, contributing the 50% GEM rate of the card.

Honestly cant believe that card has a pop of 8 in PSA 10. Those borders are crazy tough to gem. CONGRATS!

I had never seen the card physically in front of me, as I bought it on COMC several years ago and had it in my inventory ever since.
I would have been happy enough with a 9, but I'll take a 10 if they are gonna give it to me.

Unlikely, but recency bias is real and another WBC win (or championship) creates more (and cheaper) collecting options. Right now, Sho's WBC win is his biggest achievement.
