These have a Topps chrome update sapphire feel with all the different cards of guys, I feel they could’ve cut the set down from 200. The set is definitely a little outdated, 2 of my f2 drivers in my parallels are currently out of the sport (Europe apparently hit hard by covid as the factor and just ballooning costs of bankrolling a team & the 2 factors combined) so that was a little rough to swallow. But that said I like that there’s a lot of the bigger guys. Had there been different winners there wouldn’t be so many Hamilton’s in there. I like the set, I see a lot of long term value. I have a buddy who was like sell the box sealed there’s no one collecting these. Well, these didn’t exist before now. They’re out, people are interested and as they get further into it, it’ll grow. I think there’s solid sales completed and auctions in progress. I personally see a lot of value in the secondary driver cards, I like more of the action shots than just standing there with hands on hips. I could see some of the 174-194’s being more desired down the line than 1-20. Not all, but perhaps some.

The owner and team logo cards easily should’ve been jettisoned for this for starters

I think one factor providing support for F1 prices is the experience folks ran into with UEFA. And this works both ways. On the one hand, many people realize they sold too early, so they’re either (1) holding back product from the market entirely or (2) are willing to let it go only at high BINs. So those behaviors keep supply low. On the other hand, many folks realize that there was a lot of profit to me made from buying UEFA early, so there’s probably a bit of unnatural demand from buyers trying to replicating that dynamic.

In short, we have a situation where — due to recent UEFA experience — there’s less supply and greater demand. So wax prices are being supported. Note that this same dynamic doesn’t exist nearly as much for singles. That explains the disconnect. I think there’s more sealed wax speculation here than normal.

The overall theme of the card investment groups has gone from “bust and grade everything” to “toss all the wax in your closet”. Thus the current overall disconnect in the entire hobby of box prices relative to price of singles.

But would the team logo cards be considered the rookie cards for the teams since this is the first set? Not sure since there could have been older sets with the team logos. But some of the team logos especially SPs of Mercedes and Ferrari can bring in some nice money. I would agree with the team owners though unless they had prior winning experience in F1.

For those that want to hear about keeping sealed, yeah my rip was a bust. 3 numbered cards best of which was a /99 Albon. I did not get a variation short print, so box yielded 3 hits.

2 grand prix winner Hamilton's and a Toto Wolff
Norris formula freshest, Yuki tsunoda future stars
For 100 dollars not bad, but could have sold headache free keeping it sealed.

Norris is a solid hit and the tsunoda is being groomed to be verstappens teammate. Red bulll is high on him. Probably not immediate value so I get ur point, but a potential bright spot

Well I'm a ripper at heart, even if I'm not a big F1 fan, so I opened my box and got very lucky.

I got 6 color/sp, including a Hamilton SP /99. I also got a Hamilton base.
