It’s one way to try and sell a /25 card I guess!

Next up: Buy this /100 red PMG…the other 99 have definitely been sold and aren’t available.

Wonder what the “evidence” is of the other 24 being sold? Not gonna hold my breath! In reality, I think I saw one iron man sell over the year (for less than $200, it was early, could have even been this one, dunno). Needless to say the other 24 haven’t been sold, in fact it’s almost statistically impossible all 25 purple vc’s of any one character were even pulled at this point, considering the percentage of the retail print run still sealed.

(and even if the other 24 were sold, which they weren't...it wouldnt mean they're unavailable...there's this thing called flipping people do )
This guy is something. Awhile back he listed to all watchers that the highest offer getd him. So I put in a healthy offer.....nothing. Weeks later still listed. In reality that card isn't worth more than 5-6 hundo tops. Haha good stuff!

Update on the answer from eBay.

Their “Automated System” did not detect any problems with the listing……… of course it didn’t. A real person needs to see it, but I tried. Not that it’s going to sell for that price anyway.

FF purple crystal vc as a team .

(Yes the some-being-graded and others not is annoying, but hope to eventually change that).

As annoying as the grades varying? Haha! I'd be driven slowly insane trying to do a set with different grades

Cool cards Dyna!

That does bug me Not as homogenous. also why the heck is a new card like this even getting a 7.5 anyway? But yea I’m mixed on the grading. Originally the plan was to have all the purple vc’s graded for the presentation and “officialness”, and I have graded a lot so far…but I’m debating if I will send the rest in or not (if I don’t it’ll be incongruous now…) Sometimes a raw set is just simpler….

You’d be better off getting the next Thing that comes up, I think it’ll be a lot cheaper

Alas, those are not needed…I should have included them…heck the Surfer and Galactus too for that matter!

Nice! Didn't realize Skrull was a Namor vc. Forgot about Galactus.

I need 5 more PVC's then I will be content.
Jean, Rogue, Thing, Iron man, Spiderman.

Off topic, was there a reason to why no Punisher?

Spider-Man will no doubt be very pricey, think I’ve seen about 3 surface so far. Have yet to even see a Jean or Rogue. There was that Iron man that went back in like Feb-March for < $200 which I annoyingly didnt pick up, and now just that ludicrous one for over $5k. Sigh.

Yea I think it’s pretty certain UD didnt include the Punisher because his skull logo has been politicized during the last decade or so…(conservative type, ‘back the blue’ etc using it as a sort of outlaw symbol). I think UD/Marvel/Disney just doesn’t want to deal with it, and Punisher has been sporadic in sets as of late. Jusko’s Punisher has a huge logo..they could just black it out but that wouldn’t go over well.

The Mandarin also wasn’t included, im assuming because it was a negative stereotype. My question though is why was Meggan not included? Is it just because people barely heard of her? Only other guess is she has kinda big, err assets sort of front and center, but we also have Psylocke and White Queen who almost looks like she’s posing for a Playboy centerfold.

I’m fine with exchanging Mandarin for Scarlet Witch, that’s an upgrade. Not as crazy about the Feral and Deathbird choices. Instead of using Typhoid Mary, one of the best cards in the Lost Ladies set, they went with Feral and Deathbird. Head scratcher, but very possibly the sexualization of Typhoid Mary. The last replacement was Jubilee for the checklist…which I’m ok with her card, but still would have liked the checklist to remain in it.

The three biggest dings on this 92MM Platinum set which I otherwise very much like, are….1. Changing the original set, 2. Battle Spectras didnt get the full rainbow of parallels including PMGs, and 3. The quality control issues, particularly cards that have the two indented lines on the back, and also bad quality control on the PMGs and Metallurgies.

Edit: on COMC I’m seeing Upper Deck Punisher cards as late as 2019-2020, big skull logo and all. But like none after that. So this may have been a more recent thing, since 2020 (which was the election year).

I think I actually got that one. What a bargain! Smh.

I sent a pretty solid offer but was rejected. I say good luck to this seller asking 8-10x market value, with the false claims in the listing. Card’s been listed for months and months.

1. Don’t forget Electra

2. Battle spectra PMG would have been really awesome!

How can I forget!

Yea you’re telling me that got through but not Meggan? It’s probably just Meggan being unknown and not memorable (but then again so is like Night Thrasher, nightmare, sleepwalker, and Weapon Omega…and they’re in).

That would be stunning. Even gold seismic and orange lava battle spectra…awesome. But I’m also thinking about the purple crystal variant cover battle spectras. They could have used the comic covers of the 1st (or major) battle. So the Thing vs Hulk having the cover of Fantastic Four #12, and the other four having theirs. HUGE missed opportunity on UD’s part. As is…there’s not much chase at all with the battle spectras. The rainbows but they’re common.

I have a strong preference for top-loaded and/or magnetics for sets. Slabbed cards are fine, but they're so bulky. Even if you try and display a handful, it takes up so much space.

I've built hundreds of sets over the years(I only have 1 left out of those hundreds, mind you )...and never have I attempted a graded set. Part of the reason is the space it would take up and a bigger reason is...yikes...the money

100%. I’m looking for solutions on how to display a large graded set and I don’t think there are any great ones. My kaleidoscope set is all raw, and it’s in at least a top loader binder. Can’t really do that with slabs (well if there are graded binders, they would be way too unwieldy and huge, every page thick).

Here is what I’m NOT looking to do once I get these parallel sets all graded, but this is how they sit now, in extra tall shoeboxes for graded cards.

As for the price, it really does add up with 100 cards in the set. Even with CGC which is cheaper than PSA, it’s still a lot. I probably could pick up a pretty darn nice PMG from this set for the equivalent cost of grading one parallel set.

I’m starting to think you could open your own shop with everything you have, or set it up like a mini museum and charge $25 per at the door.

The problem with the shop is I wouldn’t want to sell anything haha. As for a museum, not that anyone around here would care, I might have to work on a little better display first

How are you displaying/storing your Dormammu collection?

Golden Treasures Ghost Rider PSA10 up on the bay. Any guess what it’ll end at? Over $10k?
Opened a blaster case with my brother this weekend. No PC variant but had so much fun. 80 packs each. Took a few hours. Built a few base sets and filled in a bunch of parallels. My brother’s fave character is ghost rider and somehow we pulled Ghost Rider lenticular, purple crystal, blue traxx, leather, canvas, and rainbow (and a few base). I pulled a Rogue lenticular. Only 11 left to complete that set.
I know there isn’t really numbered cards in these packs, but for the price paid there is way more ripping enjoyment with this method. I figured for about the same price I would have 24 packs of hobby (2 boxes) vs the 80 blaster packs (1/2 case)
I have my emerald surge spidey on its way back from PSA. I had it submitted on my behalf but I can tell from pop report I got a 9. Look forward to having it back in hand soon.

1k for a blaster case on D&A. No PVC I'd be furious.

A # battle spectra insert set would of been legendary. One of my biggest card collecting regret was passing up a complete PSA 10 set a few years back for like 1.2k.

This is how I have it for now, but I’m going to change it up once I get a few more in. I’m still waiting on the green pmg too.

This is awesome, cool display! Hopefully the green PMG will come soon. eBay authenticity seems to be taking awhile recently.
