If anyone can remain focused, it's this guy. And I'm loathe to stereotype, but I don't think I'm being too offensive if I say Japanese culture isn't exactly known for letting family life get in the way of work.

After the events of the past year or two, I'm just happy if she's 18+.

Pretty sure whoever this woman is, she is already well acclimated with this man's routine and needs. She was definitely around in 2023 during his MVP year. Sho don't do no picture brides

Question to the board. Over 99% of my Ohtani cards are raw. For those that grade base to sell in the future to by SP, SSP, and numbered cards do you only grade those cards you think will be PSA GEM mint 10, but would be ok with a 9? Do you ever send in cards that are borderline 8 or 9 with the hope its a 9? I feel like raw sells better than an 8 even if its the same card.

Anytime someone mentions Yoko it always brings me back to that video of her screaming into the microphone when Lennon and Berry are performing. She is truly the worst.

I've graded a lot of Ohtani base and only send in stuff I think will gem. I've probably gotten a 75%+ gem rate on it so maybe I was too strict and more would've gotten 10s, but probably not too many. Check 9 prices and if they are significantly above raw then maybe throw in a few hopeful 9s but I'd be careful. Most 9s base RCs sell for rawish prices I think, sometimes less even.

Thanks for the advice! When you grade SP, SSP and numbered cards do you still only go for 10's?

The mid to higher end stuff I definitely grade if I think it'll get a 9, and some stuff I grade no matter what. I have a red jersey flagship sp that has some pretty significant corner issues that pulled a 9 - I was thrilled with that grade.

My only Rookie Shohei auto, a base archives fan favorites 1970 Topps style got a 6. Super disappointed, thought it deserved an 8. But I'm still glad it's slabbed.

If it's 2018 and serial numbered or SSP, just send it in. I have some 6's and 7's that I am more than happy to have slabbed, and plenty of rare cards in 8. If you're playing the long game anyways might as well grade them now before they incur up charges in the distant future.

I am not in need of money and I am definitely playing the long game. At some point when PSA has a good grading special I will send my Ohtani cards in. I probably have a few hundred cards that meet the criteria of base that should Gem, along SP's, SSP's and numbered RC cards. But since I am not planning on selling I have not been in any rush.

Having a ton of Ohtani cards (I am the self proclaimed king of Ohtani RC base cards) makes it really enjoyable to follow Ohtani. I am hoping for a top 3 finish as a hitter and a WS title. Should be a fun season!

For those that are buying/collecting Ohtani cards this year...what are you looking to pick up! I am a low end collector, so if there is a low end RC ($350 or less) that I don't have, I will consider purchasing.

I'd look at Topps flagship rainbow foils, stadium club, maybe topps gold label class 1 parallels, and maybe Bowman platinum parallels.

to name few ideas
