If the vouches don’t go far enough for both parties. You could get a 3rd party middle man involved that will hold both cards. Once he has both then he ships to the traders.

I’ve made a few solid trades on IG. But only up to around 4k in value.

Trust and reputation. I've received very large wires from people on IG that I've never dealt with but they trust me because I've dealt with someone they know. I've prolly exchanged six figures of cards with one big account on IG last year with no hiccups or 3rd party. All via trade.

Deal with people you trust and never do anything to hurt your reputation and you will be fine. I will say IG is the wild wild west, its all wires, paypal FF, or Venmo. Very little G/S deals going on through their.

In 2020 I had like 1-2 headaches from dealing with bad people. Its just not worth it, I rarely even enter into talks of a deal with someone if I don't recognize their account.

I've sold 1K+ cards on IG, it's good to vet the profile obviously... I'm not going to sell to someone with an off looking profile. I feel pretty safe when I get paid G/S as long as I ship with insurance, and signature confirmation. I usually get insurance up to what I paid for the card and signature confirmation is $2.60 extra... takes shipping price from like $8 - $20 but the sense of relief when shipping a big card is worth it.

Would you trust someone on here? Would you trust someone from facebook? Protections exist if you use the right payment methods...

Do your due diligence. IG is just another platform.

The condition on that card was pretty poor for something so new...

If this had a chance as a PSA 10, I would have been all over it. But I'd be surprised if this copy even gets an 9.

Sold a couple of big cards on instagram over past month, one was 31 one 18 and one 13. Shipped via ups overnight with insurance on full price. The extra money for the insurance was an easy choice should something happen. Both guys were legit and reached out via ebay, both were paid on paypal very quickly. Still is a bit nervewracking until the package arrives.

I sold 5 firgue cards on here with no problem on multiple occasions. Where people vouch for the person. I do nothing on Facebook those groups are low balling scammers.

Guys, if you see one, buy it. I've made this mistake before and passed on Rodgers Prizm golds. That's why I'm missing two years of my set. The one that went for 2500 was beat, no doubt. But if you can get a PSA 9 worthy card, buy it!

*From what I've seen the L/R centering isn't very good on the golds across the board.

Thanks. You inspired me with the Deshaun Watson galactic you picked up a couple weeks ago. Trends in the basketball market continue to spill over into the football market given the influx of investors, so I thought I would get one while I could.

I haven’t been active in the basketball card market for about a decade. Would be interesting to better understand what other basketball collector trends may spill over into football. I’ve heard people discuss select court side in this thread, which I understand to be a close proxy to select field levels (though the pop is still lower on the court sides). I know kaboom‘s are popular in both as well

The only thing holding me back is that there are a number of Mahomes cards available right now in the 2-10k range that I want to pick up before they disappear.

I'll be showing off one here in probably a few weeks. There are probably about 6-7 other Mahomes in the price range I know I should buy... but that starts to get pricey.

Question: I’m currently looking at a Mahomes card for auction. How do you determine the value of it if there are no comps for it (yes I understand it’s whatever someone is willing to pay for it)? I don’t want to feel later on that I overbid for it. Do you look at another set of the same parallel and see how much that sold for? I’ve always been the one to check eBay comps, 130point comps, and all that jazz before purchasing items.

That’s excessive lol. It’ll stay a 2 score game I think. It’s playoff football at the end of the day. Browns have nothing to lose and will play aggressive. Browns also have played a lot of good football teams this year.

Call me crazy but I’m not sure the browns aren’t a tougher matchup than either of the two teams that played last nigh. I get the elements, but the bills got lucky to get out of the Wildcard round if Frank Reich wasn’t an awful coach.

I’m not overlooking the Browns today. A QB with a ton of confidence and 2 stud RBs is a tough team to beat in Jan.
