Neutral feedback left to me: Too high for card worth only a couple bucks. Run from this seller. Over charging for items.

looks like guy does this every so often with looking at feedback towards others

Why are sharp corners and edges such a big deal if he doesn't grade his cards?

I do not think that is true. I did that and received a negative from a guy. I am pretty sure I am a top rated seller and have been for some time. I had never heard that.

It’s true. I’ve literally watched a negative disappear after issuing the refund. I clicked on a random listing you have and it says buyer pays return shipping. That isn’t free returns which is most likely why it doesn’t work for you.

A new one for me. Sold a card last night in an auction that usually sells for $10-15 and it went for $16.50. Buyer today sends a message requesting to cancel it with the reasoning that it wouldn't arrive on time because he is moving to Australia before the card would arrive. Usually I would just cancel even if they give the reason of finding a better deal, but I told him I would if I saw his flight itinerary to Australia or that I could overnight it if he wanted it. Of course he says he doesn't have to provide that and insisted he wasn't lying. I refunded and blocked him. The guy had a 2 feedback score.

I wouldn't provide my flight itinerary either. I don't need someone calling and canceling my flights.

Potential Buyer with 7 feedback: What's the condition?
Me: Near mint or better with no significant visible issues.
Potential Buyer with 7 feedback: What's ur lowest
Me: Feel free to make an offer via the Send Offer button. Thanks!
Potential Buyer with 7 feedback: Ok I will

12 hours later...do we think Potential Buyer with 7 feedback has sent an offer?

Asking for that info is inappropriate (may even violate ebay tos).
Overnighting a ~$17 item sounds expensive and unwise to offer (buyer could INAD and you could be paying the shipping cost).

We can't force buyers to pay (or force sellers to sell/ship for that matter).
Sucks to lose a sale and have to relist but cancel, block, and move on is the best option here.

Buyer #1 purchased card the evening of February 10th:

B: Just checking to see if this thing shipped yet?
ME: If you click on the order, you can see the status. It shows shipped with tracking using the service you selected at check out (eBay Standard Envelope).
B: I did and I do not see anything nothing saying that it was received by the post office or anything
ME: The label was printed last night and it was dropped off this afternoon at my local post office.

Buyer #2 - Added this note to his purchase on a $1.99 delivered card.

B: Hey... Does this come with hard plastic??? And hell... if you have 2 or 3 extra used hard plastic top loaders I'd appreciate it.

Buyer #3 - Purchased 4 cards and then after a few hours sent all of these messages in a 20 minute time period.

B: Since these havent shipped, any chance you can cancel the Blue Traxx Thanos? SO sorry I apparently already have it.
B: I still want that blue traxx Sabertooth variant though
B: Just hoping you can refund on the Thanos
B: Again, my sincerest apologies
B: Oh and Lenticular Beast I still need
B: So to recap, Blue Traxx Variant Sabertooth and Blue Traxx Thanos I do NOT need- I misspoke on Sabertooth- I only need the Lenticular Beast. Hopefully these can be cancelled since they have not shipped. I am really, really sorry about this.

In before..."Well I dont need the lenticular Beast, cancel that too?"

Seems like a roundabout way to just cancel everything. Great buyer

Overnighting & asking for flight information is sarcasm. People are too damn serious. It was in reference to claiming he was moving to Australia in 3 days and just realized that after he bid at end of auction & realized he was going to pay higher than recent comps. I would rather they just be honest than make up a story.

COMPS SUCK if they bid then they should pay. Bids are what basically set the prices/COMPS. I get it if it was a BIN still a douche move by the buyer. Post their ID Swipe I dont need that type of clown wasting my time.

Oh and I know ebay can't force a buyer to pay and if that is true then sellers should have the right to not ship without reprisal.

In theory, I don't disagree, but not all auctions are equal. One card ending at 8pm on a Sunday is going to go for more than that same card at 2am on a Thursday.

"Very fast shipping and card arrived in excellent condition.Ordered 3 cards and was sent together, would have preferred if they were separate but shipping was free."

Received a message tonight on a fixed price / best offer item... "What price"
You can imagine how the rest went.

He left me this negative feedback overnight - over six weeks later.

Item was shipped in a thin card saver and the card came out and onto the tape that was applied to the top, reached out to seller to resolve, he said just return it instead of partial refund, not worth the hassle when it wasn't my fault. Didn't take advice as far as using top loader and cardboard.

Here is the response to my idea:
No, the tape is stuck to the card, look closer. I would need a partial refund to keep it or just send it back for a full refund. I'm also a seller and just giving you advice as far as packaging.

For reference - if you've ever tried to get a card in a penny sleeve to move around inside a card saver, it is extremely difficult to do. The other fun part is that, yep...he is also a seller...he sold 49 items in the last three months of which around ten are cards. I'm not sure why he feels qualified to advise me on proper shipping but there it is. Clown.

I had someone send an offer on an item.

They then messaged me asking me to decline the offer because they clicked the wrong button...you clicked make an offer, entered $150, and then submitted the offer after selecting payment. Which button did you mean to click?

Have an item $70 with best offer on the listing.

Message: can you do $50?

So I’m thinking…I must have an auto decline in place above $50, so the buyer is messaging me to go around it and see if I’ll take $50 , fair enough…..*nope*. My auto decline only rejects less than $50. Anything $50 or above goes through.

"Yes, of course you can make payments on the card. You make all the payments, then you get the card sent to you."

One screening method to weed out bad buyers - this only works for Offers since you can't do it with BITN or auction. If someone sends an offer, check their feedback "Left for others". If it's littered with negatives and neutrals, that's a major red flag for sellers. I did this for every offer I would get for years, then for some reason I stopped doing it mid way through 2024.

Late last night I got a message from a buyer. He bought a lot of 12 cards. He was unhappy with the condition of one of the 12. He didn't ask for a return yet, and I'll give him a label to return if he wants. But I reviewed his feedback left for others. Yep, negatives and neutrals all over the place - even when he gets refunded he still leaves a negative a neutral. In his feedback as a buyer, a couple of sellers were warning about him in their positives (since you can't leave a buyer a negative).

It used to be if you accepted a return and refunded, Ebay would remove bad feedback but I believe they stopped that last year?

I do this, but one thing that’s annoying is I use the app. And you can’t do many simple things such as checking the user’s feedback left for others on the app, for whatever reason. (great job ebay on functionality of your app).

So what this means with the various offers im getting each day, have to go back to desktop version in a browser each time for them, just to check feedback left for others. Certainly not convenient. I often just let it slide if the item is cheaper, say <$50, but any expensive item, I’m going out of the way to check the buyer’s info with any offer.
