I didn't notice that black auction until it had already ended. I really need one for my #700 rainbow but even if I had saw it I would not pay anything near that much for it.

There's gotta be a reason its not in a slab already.

I was actually thinking about you when I posted it. Wasn't sure if you had picked one up yet. And for sure - the bottom left corner looks like it may be dented but impossible to tell. Basically gambling between a PSA 8 best case and 6 worst case.

Interesting how taking a picture of that card against a white background makes evaluating the corners and edges nearly impossible. Not saying DC did that on purpose or anything its just annoying.

Here is the photo from the auction when it was sold the first time. That card should warrant better scans/pictures from a consignment seller. The fact that dcsprts used such a crappy scan while listing the condition as “excellent” tells you all you need to know about its condition in regards to trying to conceal its imperfections.

*exactly why, when selling online, detailed scans/pictures and an honest description about any flaws (if they cant be captured easily in a picture/scan) goes much further to provide transparency for both buyer and seller than any incompetent/untrustworthy TPG service can provide.

Grade just popped on this bad boy. I bought this raw awhile back with no intention of grading but it looked really clean. I think this card will be really big long term.

if DC has a card of significance listed raw, its was listed through them by the consignor for a reason

sticker auto wipe, forge, transfer - scumbags taking advantage of topps mistakenly having autograph language on the back of all SC non-auto refractors.

CGC smart enough to know to reject that during authentication? The legit autos have "Topps Certified Autograph Issue" on the front. Ohtani not even listed as an autograph on the checklist for the non-variation auto checklist. These autos suppose to be on-card right?

Can't speak to the competencies of most TPGs, but this is another reason why the original Sho autos (>2019) are going to be more sought after. So much harder to forge with multiple tells (ink boldness indicating speed, loop shape, pen-lift angle, etc). His C-8 auto can be carbon copied by a 4 year old.
