So what constructive tweets will we be seeing today?

A) Blame the liberals
B) Blame the governors and mayors
C) Blame the media
D) I am not responsible
E) All of the above

Fascinating to see the concern for mass gatherings simply vanish when it suits a particular political stance.
I am very concerned about the COVID19 ramifications of the situation. Hopefully seasonality kicks in.

Yea I posted that just as the other post mentioning his tweets was going up. I had thought about adding him gloating about his success but thought it still may take a couple more days before that happened. Guess I underestimated his narcissism. I should know by now not to do that.

First is that bias exists everywhere, in everything and is essential. Bias is not bad at its core. It’s a learned response and aids in preservation. The key is to understand yours and especially in the current climate, make sure that your bias isn’t leading to treating someone remarkably different. Cam Heyward did a great, honest interview yesterday on radio and said he doesn’t feel comfortable around police. That is a learned bias, whether by experience or by being taught police are bad. His response is to feel like he must do everything perfect around them or risk having issues. Bias is innately about preservation.

Secondly, this issue is deeper than “system racism”. It is rooted in political and media bias, it’s rooted in cancel culture, it’s rooted in social media vitalism, it’s rooted in “my truth” and it’s rooted in systemic racism. It does exist. But that doesn’t mean it’s the root cause. We are incredibly divided, we are told if we don’t see things the same way as everyone else, that we are wrong - or worse the enemy. Until we start to listen - and that is everyone. Police officers listening to minority voices, minorities listening to police officers - there will never be resolution. Each has their own bias that is rooted in experiences and learning that drives them. It’s not innately bad, but unrecognized can cause issues. We will never get over race being an issue until we get over ourselves and understand my viewpoint is not the only truth, the only reality and, truthfully, it may be neither.

Until we make any progress on our pride and lack of humility, we aren’t going to suddenly fix this issue.
Fantastic post.

Good to see that the top tweets on "my instagram" are ranting about how stupid white people muting themselves with a black box and taking up room is absurd

This is beautifully said and mirrors discussions I've had among my family as well.

Everybody has a different experience and take on race in this country. Everybody has different upbringing and different bias and prejudice. We all have them.

Everybody just wants a fair shake, especially when it's dealing with the "system". There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that the "system" should deal with my brothers in a different manner than it would deal with me, and I can assure you through personal experience, that the "system" has.

This isn't something that can just be ignored. I know people want to argue semantics and say that the "system" isn't biased/prejudiced/racist towards those that look different, but I can assure you it most certainly is. As long as we ignore this, we can't really begin to tackle the race problem in this country.

We will never abandon racism on a micro level. I think everybody understands this. We can abandon it on a macro level. We can abandon the prejudice in the "system". I shouldn't be treated differently by the police as my literal brothers are. It shouldn't happen.

When someone asks me if black lives matter, I say yes. It's not met with a "but...". There is no but to this. Yes, all lives matter. Everybody understands this, but until black lives matter then all lives can't by proxy. If somebody can't recognize this, the divide will continue to grow.

I'm not trying to steer this into a religious thing, but when Jesus gave his sermon on the mount and said "blessed be the poor" nobody interrupted him and said "Jesus, blessed be everybody". It's the same thing with the black lives matter stance.

Conspiracy theory? Maybe. But here's a pretty interesting read about the possible history between Floyd and Chauvin:

My wife burnt the coffee this morning- I blame Trump. This would have never happened with him in office.
