Would, 100% would, have preferred a Freddie Freeman auto relic to commemerate this WS clincher...

But even at a veryyyyyyy fair price, I could not get behind the front of the card only saying "TIES FRED McGRIFF FOR MOST HRs (5) IN A SINGLE POSTSEASON IN BRAVES HISTORY"... and mentioning nothing about the win or world series champion(s)...

I went with the Soler /49, to keep my Topps Now WS clinching relic collection alive.

Happy to have gotten something!!

Question: It wasn't my focus, but that Red /10 Fried ball relic just looks sweet. Were there any actually available at drop, or did plats scoop them all?

Just gets worse and worse - no triples and can’t get anything anyway. Very glad to have Nats and Cubs winners. Sorry to the many Braves fans no great card but you do have the championship to console you.

That’s a weird ass passive aggressive post brother.
Congrats on your Nats and Cubs winners cards. The reason why you couldn’t get anything is because the cards were awesome and they went quickly bc the Braves transcend a lot of states and countries. They went quick bc we were all trying to buy them and they were all AWESOME.
Topps does in fact suck.. 100%
You couldn’t get any because a generation of frustration is looking for last night’s memories today, regardless of the outlet.

I wonder how much the Topps Now post series cards cost to produce? Given the short time it took for everything to sell out, I'm surprised they didn't offer more.

With the team set auto's there were roughly 1,700 cards produced with either a relic or an auto, for sales of ~$200k (unless my math is off).

Given the manufacturing scale of Topps Now and them losing the license, I'm surprised they didnt try and offer more.

Dear Platinum Members,

This morning we are excited to announce the first autograph cards coming out of our brand-new Bowman Next Basketball and Football lines.

Standout point guard Mikey Williams, a 17-year-old hailing from San Diego, CA, is a top talent on the hardcourt and recently made news headlines by signing a historic footwear/apparel deal with Puma. Williams currently plays for Vertical Academy and was part of a thrilling game this past weekend with Overtime Elite, scoring 16 points in the contest that ended with an overtime buzzer beater victory for OTE.

On the gridiron, top-talents Chris Olave and Desmond Ridder kick off our Bowman Next Football release later today. Olave is a wide receiver who currently plays for Ohio State. He has scored nine touchdowns through the team's first eight games, logging 562 receiving yards in the process.

The current signal-caller for Cincinnati, Ridder has thrown for 18 touchdowns and 1,847 yards, leading the team to a perfect 8-0 mark at this point of the season.

Interesting, thanks for posting that platman ... I guess we are witnessing the future focus of Topps Now for sports. I wonder if Topps has secured the licensing rights for Buckeyes or Bearcats on these autos? Is the Vertical Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina a thing that has a logo that people would recognize?

I am out for these autos but man that's talent so raw I've never heard of it.

of colleges or logos so headshots and/or airbrushing

Right, I saw that news but never saw any mention of exclusivity. Meaning while the ~200 or so colleges struck deals, I would be skeptical that it would prevent Topps from making a deal with one or two universities. It's still a difficult thing to do for an entire team (each athlete has to opt in to it) but with Topps' licensing deals slipping through their iron grip, I'd be expecting them to try to acquire/work out processes for any teams.

You’re right, I think Panini has rights for colleges under CLC but they made deals with other schools directly too so Topps or anyone else could do the same

Yeah I mean it's possible they get put into the existing Bowman NEXT as a sort of catchall for prospects.

I don't think it's any secret that there are botnets that screen scrape these categories so they can be johnny on the spot for buying up autos when they come out unexpectedly. Probable that Topps puts these autos into this category in hopes that the fervor surrounding MLB prospects crossed with the insanity of basketball RCs makes this subproduct line a hit.

It's going to be weird seeing Bowman and amateur logos instead of the pro logos we've come to demand/enjoy.

It's why I didn't buy into any of the AFL Bowman Next cards a couple years ago. Not that AFL is amateur but they're not the MLB team logos most prefer.

I have no idea what my prospect collecting is going to look like when Fanatics takes over.

For American Football, I agree. For basketball, well, their prospect pipeline seems to be a little more robust than NFL, NHL or even MLB. Maybe I'm wrong but seems like there are far fewer busts in NBA than the other sports (after like 2010). But yeah, never heard of mikey williams or vertical academy (or overtime elite prior to topps cards) so yeah it's likely squeezing blood from a stone.

Speaking of never heard of ... looks like 2 Chainz gets an overtime elite card lol

Mikey Williams was the first high schooler with a shoe deal and has over 3 mill isnta followers. If he ever posts that his autos are on insta then these will go up big time. People buy his autographed basketballs for $200+ on ebay.
