COMC may be dying a slow painful death. Lack of sales is ugly.

July always seems to be one of the slower months.

My sales are fine.

Compared to July, 2020 - I'm looking at a ~52% decrease in sales. Pretty much using the same strategy as last year.

Well when it's a company that all people do is complain about how bad their service is perhaps they need to go out of business.

They've screwed all of their customers. Money is tightening up, demand is lower, and people need/want COMC less than ever.

Can't be trusted to ship, can't be trusted to process items on time, tons of people waiting months and months for their services. It's exactly what COMC deserves. A terribly run company that couldn't care less about their customers.

No one wants that. The frustration is because we’ve seen what it can be like when it’s working. And when it is, it’s a great resource.

Agree with this. They have not done anything to earn peoples trust again, and it is showing.

Maybe they shouldn't have bought a building in the middle of all their problems, just a thought.

That’s a no-win situation though.
Once they were already in the weeds, there’s only two ways out - fold up the tent and go home, or expand to deal with the backlog and have excess capacity afterwards.
It seems like they played it too conservatively at first, and realised they couldn’t get caught up, so went all-in. We’ll see what happens after they get caught up.
Mind you, if it takes too long to catch up it may not matter - they may have burned off too much goodwill and have hurt their reputation too much. But my bet would be that’s not the case. Collectors have short memories when there’s a useful service available. (And it’s not like it was a trimming / fraud issue.)

Even if it was a trimming/fraud issue people would not care.

There are tons of people on this very site that still use and do business with PWCC....even after all the fraud PWCC committed was made available for everyone to see.

I have gone through over 4,000 cards I have listed on COMC. I have updated and reduced pricing and I believe 99% of my cards are cheapest or top 3 in lowest price. I can't keep up with people trying to go cheaper on me. I already have people that have been grabbing what they like with the low prices, so go look at my COMC account and see what you like for your collection!

Does an email declaring that my cards are in "Packaging" mean anything? For any other business, it would go from "Packaging" to out the door in a few days rather than many months.

It's been almost four months since I requested shipment and there are 501,000 items ahead of me.

I don't want to get frustrated over trading cards but come on, COMC...

It's easier to run a sale up to a progressive amount your comfortable with than to try and constantly reprice thousands of cards.

After you reprice, wait a week. Run a 10% off sale for a week, run a 15-20% sale for a week, run a 20-30% sale for a week. At the end of the month, go through inventory again and start the process over.

I was doing this for a while and it was successful - this was in the past though.

While it's nice to know they started working on your order, it doesn't really mean much as it relates to how soon it will ship.

Dang, that's what I kind of figured. Thank you for the info.

Yup, shipping international is not their forte.
I waited way to long for Priority shipping to Canada.

I sent a reply asking them to please remove this card from the order and put it back into my port.

We'll see what they say.
So, I filed a Paypal chargeback request and within 24 hours they responded and my cards were 'shipped'. I say 'shipped' because it has been nearly three days and the tracking number still doesn't work.

Progress?

I should say that they did refund $120 in shipping fees which I promptly used to place another shipping order. Figured I would just keep recyling these 'fees' while I can. Secretly I hope they will be late with this next order so I can keep doing this until my port in empty.

Hope everyone is doing well. What's the hold time for COMC shipments?

While everything felt very slow after the April rush, looking at my monthly stats what is remarkable - especially given the depth of the shipping problems - is how consistent sales have been for me this year outside of March and April:

July $784.07 221
June $738.39 198
May $755.47 185
April $2,159.28 417
March $1,226.04 275
February $770.10 201
January $818.71 242

FWIW - I sell pretty much exclusively baseball. And the April stats were somewhat skewed by the fact that I bought a lot of Corbin Burnes and Joe Musgrove to flip over the winter and spring (in case this sounds like a brag, the Justus Sheffield and Jon Duplantier purchases didn't work out so well...).

I think part of the issue is that the combination of late start to the season and lockdown made July and August unnaturally good last year, so year-on-year comparisons were always going to make this year look bad.
