I recently ripped a bunch of 2012 Target blasters and, man alive, those reds come out of the pack in NM-MT condition the majority of the time. Not sure what it was that caused it. The Walmart blues didn't have the problem, those came out nice and clean. But damn, "pack fresh" for those Target reds meant at least two jacked corners and enough edge chipping to choke a goat.

I picked up a PSA 8.5 2012 Trout Target a while back thinking of it as a filler until I came across a 9 or a 10 and I'm still sitting on the 8.5 and I'm perfectly okay with that.

My red is just as clean on the front. Has a 3rd party mark on the back making it a 7 slab but sure presents like a 9-10 so i'll take it

Trying to figure out what would be the best buy on eBay right now? I already own a 2011 Bowman Sterling Mike Trout /109 BGS 9.5 10 Auto. But trying to get another cool rookie. I think 2011 Update Trout population report is too high for me.

Can spend up to $7500ish.

Options:

.2011 Bowman Chrome Mike Trout #175 PSA 10.

I think you're pretty safe with both depending on time frame. I'm biased and would go Pujols because he's one of my two PC guys, but also because his story is over and he's one of the greatest ever. Trouts is still being written and, while there's a 99.9% chance he's also considered one of the best ever, things can still go wrong. He also has to go through the down side of his career which may cause some ADD collectors to jump ship to the new shiny thing over there. In the end though there are not many safer modern players to collect than those two. Just depends on personal preference.

No brainer Trout to me. Pujols was great for a 10 year stretch but he isn't sniffing the top 20 of all time. Trout has a chance at finishing as one of the top 5 ever. Pujols has 87 career WAR and Trout is 29 at 78 career WAR and is as good as ever

Yeah I have a nice 2011 Sterling Trout Auto /109 In a BGS 9.5 with 10 auto. I have no Pujols cards in my collection. Trying to figure out if I should upgrade to a bigger Trout or get my first Pujols rookie.

Angels manager Joe Maddon said Monday that Mike Trout (calf) is likely still a month away from a return to action.

Maddon made the comment after Trout had his status re-evaluated. If Trout is indeed sidelined for another month, he'll have missed about eight weeks of action, which is at the end of the projected 6-8 week timetable. Trout is making his way back from a Grade 2 right calf strain.

I read this too Reggie. There is definitely no need to rush him back if he is not 100% healthy. The last thing we need is Trout hurting himself again this year.

I was using fWAR. bWAR is flawed for a bunch of reasons but that's been re-hashed a million times. And I meant top 20 all time in terms of all players, not just position players

I love these 1996 Bowman's Best Atomic cards!

This auto version has an interesting history (BGS 9.5/9 -> PSA 9 -> Damaged PSA 9). I need to get it re-slabbed but couldn't pass it up at the price offered. I like how big the auto is!
